TOKYO -- Japan's Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga can afford to smile to himself this week, happy in the knowledge that a meeting last month has now turned out to be a goldmine of insight into the policy agenda of the next U.S. administration.
Retired American military intelligence officer Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn met Suga while on a visit to Japan in mid-October, when he stressed the need to review and reassess the U.S. security alliance with Japan. Donald Trump wants to pursue a better bilateral alliance, Flynn is alleged to have said to the Japanese government spokesman.
---
In his meetings, Flynn is said to have claimed Trump's controversial campaign-trail remarks were merely part of the rhetoric needed to secure an election win, according to informed sources. His actual policies after taking office would be different from what he said to galvanize his support base, Flynn predicted.
Not buying it.
“Flynn is alleged to have said to the Japanese government spokesman.”
That’s is rock f’ng solid. /s

“Alleged”
“Claimed”
More butt-hurt media B.S.
Not buying it either.
If this is from the media, US or Japanese, it doesn't matter which, I would not place much credibility in it's truthfulness or it's impact on the US-Japanese relations under a Trump presidency.
In case you haven’t noticed. Now that the Trump can’t win narrative is dead. The newest ones are ‘fake news’ (to reassure libtards) and ‘Trump is caving’ (to split Trump supporters).
The only thing which remains true is the media lies.
“informed sources”
Mike Huckabee has stated that anyone claiming to be an “informed source” regarding the Trump administration isn’t.
Still, if the fool Japanese leaders actually believe this, then it’s gonna be all that more stunning for them when President Trump slaps them up the side of their collective heads with the demand that they pay for their own self-defense.
Oh, and I hereby demand that facebook and twitter add nikkei to their list of banned “fake news” sources.
After the Japanese PM visit with Trump to specifically establish “trust”, I wouldn’t be surprised if the PM has something to say to the sources of this BS inside Japan.
Someone’s gonna wind up committing hari kari over this.
Trump (or indeed Japan) can revoke the US-Japan Security Treaty with a years notice.
Not sure it would be a good idea though. Without that treaty, there’s no SOFA and no US military presence in Japan.

SCOOP: Trump taps @ktmcfarland for deputy national security adviser, two transition officials tell me. She has accepted, I'm told.

I was looking for a Trump quote. Trump said only he knew what he was going to do. I just liked the sound of this one.
The headline you posted is NOT the headline on the link. Moreover, there is not a direct quote from Flynn with the words you put in your headline.
All you need to know to disregard this report. News by innuendo.
“When I take my Suga to tea...”
This sure sounds like it might be wishful thinking about Flynn.
What I read in the Japanese press from the meeting was Flynn clarifying that Trump would be more presidential and restrained in his remarks as president, not that the policies he ran on would change. The specifics he reiterated to Japanese officials were not different than anything said so far. Namely that security policy with Asia would not change but that he didn’t want to continue the same path, starting with the TPP not coming into effect.
It is coming from the Japanese minister. It does not even say that they interviewed Flynn
This is fake news meant to divide trump supporters
