The 538 delegates to the Electoral College will gather at governors offices and statehouses across the country Monday to make President-elect Donald Trumps victory over Democrat Hillary Clinton official.
The results arent expected to deviate much from Election Day, when Trump won 306 electoral votes to Clintons 232.
Despite media coverage, social media chatter and announcements from a handful of electors who have made their protest votes public, its unlikely that electors will defect in significant numbers.
Even so, scattered groups of liberals are using every means at their disposal lawsuits, petitions, and public and private pressure to try to convince 37 GOP electors to peel away from Trump to deprive him of the 270 votes needed for victory....
So far, only a few Electoral College voters have publicly declared that they will not back the candidates that their states supported including just one of the 37 Trump voters that the self-styled Hamilton Electors, a group of mostly Democrats, need to make any noise on Monday.
And even if the rogue electors achieve their aims, they would only succeed in sending the election to a Republican-majority House, which would almost certainly certify Trumps victory.
Virtually all Republican electors reached by The Hill said they will vote enthusiastically for Trump.
Im voting how the people of Florida have told me to vote, said Brian Ballard, a Florida elector who raised money for Jeb Bush and Marco Rubio during the GOP primary. I dont know anyone who isnt. I appreciate people using First Amendment rights to reach out and try to convince me otherwise, but Im obligated to support Trump because he won Florida.

They should be under pressure to DO THE JOB YOU WERE ASSIGNED TO DO! EOFS!
This is tampering with the results of an election; it ought to be illegal.
the self-styled Hamilton Electors,
What’s with these Hamilton electors??? Do they know who Alexander Hamilton was??? Do they know his history, or did they pick the name because of the Hamilton play?? Does their knowledge of Hamilton come from actual history, or is what they know of Hamilton based only on the play???
Mr. Ballard, unlike that scumbag in Texas, you understand your sworn duty. Thank you for your integrity!
My local TV news covered (for a few seconds) the threats to electors.
if you change your vote to loser Hillary you’ll never ever hear the end of it
So tired of these crybaby liberal snowflakes. These lefties are totally useless. They can’t even win an election THEY RIGGED in their favor!
Enough Is Enough!
TRUMP WILL BE PRESIDENT. REST EASY FRIENDS, THIS WON’T AMOUNT TO A HILL OF BEANS.
“Electoral College voters under intense pressure”
BS. There is no pressure whatsoever. There’s one looney Republican. That’s it. The rest are hysterical democrats, trying to stir up a movement. No rational person takes them seriously.
It should be a felony to contact electors at all, let alone threaten them.
They have a directive they need to follow in each state.
Outsiders should stay out.
I would think that threatening anyone is tantamount to blackmail.
I’d love to see a number of people get prison sentences over this. If they did, this would be the last of the threats.
From who? Call the Do Jay and report the abuse of power!
Anti-Trump Texas faithless elector Stephen Christopher Chris Suprun, who wrote a widely-shared op-ed in The New York Times about his decision, joined and paid for cheating website Ashley Madison in 2012, using the same address registered to his 9/11 charity, while bankrupt, likely unemployed, and married with three young kids, after he and his working wife owed over $200,000 to multiple creditors

“This is tampering with the results of an election; it ought to be illegal.”
I agree - this is no different than stationing the armed Black Panthers at polling places.
Trump should sue the bastards.
Seems a bad idea to designate any elector who is in this kind of dire circumstance.
Authorities really do need to crack down on this, or it’s going to happen every 4 years with increasing intensity.
It’s too bad we don’t have a Department of Justice.
