There are so many crazy impersonation stories out there, people pretending to be everything from doctors to pilots to special operations guys. Amazing what you can get away with (temporarily at least) if you’ve got the gumption to bypass the main road block — social convention — and just fake an identity.

I despise those “Stolen Valor” people. I’m a lowly ex-Aviation sailor from the 70’s and 80’s. I helped Marines off the flight deck so they could fight for me, my family, friends, and our Country. Anyone who claims such should be prosecuted and sent to jail. At my old age, if I encountered one, my fist would go to his jaw and hope I break it and I will pay the consequences. They deserve no mercy.

I have one ex-Seal friend. I knew him for about ten years before he told me a story about his time on the teams.

That alone is proof he’s the real deal.

I know of someone who listed his bronze star (among other things) on a job application. The problem is, his dates and places don't line up....leading me to believe the bronze star is not true. Tried searching for information but the only site I could find wasn't complete because when I listed known recipients, some didn't show up. I would LOVE to call this guy out if I could prove it's a lie.
