During MSNBC’s Inauguration coverage, anchor Chris Matthews stated he phrase “America first” has a “Hitlerian background to it,” and Donald Trump’s Inaugural Address was what Putin has been saying.
Matthews said, “I’m thinking, when he said today, America first, it was not just the racial, — I mean, the — I shouldn’t say racial, the Hitlerian background to it, but it was the message. I kept thinking, what does Theresa May think of this, this morning, when she picks up the papers? … What if you’re Putin? You’re probably pounding the table, saying, that’s what I’ve been saying, Russia first, Russia first. This whole bullying message to him.”

Chris Matthews wants the United States to wallow in a false humility or something rather twisted outside of a nunnery.
Like Thomas Alva Edison, Matthews and all the rest of the permanent opposition are trying out a comprehensive list of materials to see which one will final be an acceptable candidate for their version of the electric light bulb filament. Throw it out there, see what sticks and what works, then throw in the kitchen sink after it.

Hitler’s socialist goals were very similar to modern socialist goals. Hitler scapegoated Jews for the same reasons that modern socialists scapegoat white males—because they are the group most likely to be successful, and successful people are the enemy of socialism. (I do not think that universities adopting Hitler’s brand of socialism actually offered courses to give a more academic veneer to hating, as some American colleges and universities do.) Finally, Hitler’s “final solution” has been used by many socialist governments, and there is plenty of evidence that many of our homegrown socialists dream of conducting such a final solution themselves.
The bottom line is that Matthews has no business comparing anyone to Hitler when his own philosophy and the tactics that go along with it would have been very familiar to Hitler.
I guess “America last, with her flag dragged through the muck and trod upon and burned” would be a better stand for them...
