John Hurt was only 77?

He looked 77 when he was in 1984, filmed in 1984.

RIP.

Very sad. I believe he is the only cast member other than the guy who played the xenomorph from Alien who has died. Pretty unusual for a film nearly 40 years old.

I loved ‘I, Claudius’. I try not to miss it whenever they re-show it. Patrick Stewart was in it too, I believe.

"...the definitive Caligula"

I'll never forget how oily/dangerous he made Caligula. His portrayal of Caligular's self-declaration of god-hood was absolutely chilling. RIP Mr. Hurt.
