You politically don’t get it. Miller was practicing the fine art of deflection. By speaking for himself, he is preventing the corrupt MSM from being able to later go on the attack about what would be attributed as a Trump stance via Miller speaking for him.
This way the opposition, the MSM/Dems (same thing) can’t come down on Trump as having said something controversial because Miller took ownership of what was said on himself. Miller says exactly what Trump wants said, gets the message out there in the public arena, and protects his Boss at the same time.
Miller did a great job, stayed on the attack, and won the argument. Bravo, quite a stellar performance. What do you want, some milquetoast out there speaking for Trump? I want an attack dog, who gives as good as he gets. We’ve got to stop criticising and eating our own. Geez. The Dems seldom do that. They all stay on the message du jour and attack Pubs, not each other. We Pubs have got the circular firing squad down to a fine art.
Agreed. Stephen Miller did a great job.
I think if they voted for Trump they voted for exactly what Miller spelled out: 1. A return to following the laws as written, changing legally those that need to be changed. 2. A Nation with borders & sensible immigration policies that serve America’s interests. Miller did a great job in my opinion.
Special Weapons and Tactics. :0)
Well done Steven Miller. You even have them calling you names! Well done indeed! They lose. You won. Heeeee....
I agree.
However, I have to admit I was let down during his interview with Stephanopoulos when Miller failed to ask George, "Are you still here? I thought you were moving to Australia or New Zealand if Trump was elected?"
I'm sure that pose doesn't make Mike feel objectified, but it makes me feel like she's objectified.
At least, certain parts of her.
“I see Mika is in her Bill Clinton worship pose.”
If them two ain’t screwing...
governsleast,
Flag Lady’s subtle point is important. As I listened to Miller, I was struck by the number of times he said that what he was saying was his own opinion. I thought to myself how smart that was.
Several times he was asked what Trump thought about something. Miller responded that only Trump could answer and that he couldn’t speculate. Instead, Miller would immediately return the discussion (cum debate) to the actual policies, actions of the Administration, or facts. I thought this was an excellent way to deal with this and very different than what we have seen before. (Please note that Kelly Ann Conway also is very good at this.)
I don’t think folks here on FR are exactly “flaming” you. Instead, they are bringing different views to the discussion you started. Thanks for posting on a Forum that generally supports ‘free speech.’
Just watching all of this with a big grin.

Thanks, oldplayer. Perhaps Miller was playing some kind of subtle three-dimensional chess, but I’m a bit dubious about that. He strikes me more as a young and rather immature man on something of a power trip.
I fully expected some pushback from my fellow FReepers, and that is just fine. They’ve actually been rather gentle.
I’ve posted thousands of my original articles here over more than 10 years. Anyway who has been a regular reader knows that I’m a principled conservative who wants to win. And though I’ve had my criticisms of Trump, I was quite supportive of his candidacy, on the record.
Joe and Mika are filled with Trump hatred - AND OVERFLOWING WITH SELF SATISFIED PRIDE - - it's ruining their show.
Get real - and No, JOE SCARBOROUGH - YOU ARE NOT SMARTER THAN TRUMP... AND PLEASE STOP TELLING PEOPLE YOU'RE A REPUBLICAN - IF THEY CAN'T FIGURE IT OUT FROM YOUR WORDS IT MEANS YOU'RE NOT ONE anymore except in name...

“Shes on her knees? How can you tell?”
It’s the look.
They're doing the public for sure.
I thought he ate George Stepinitopolusa’s lunch and made him like it. George took the last word and it was sarcastic because he knew that he had been had by someone more intelligent than himself.

Of course, with the “chess analogy” I would point out that it is the King that matters. The other pieces are just tools used to protect the King on the way to winning.
In this case, obviously, it doesn’t matter whether Miller even knows that he is a piece in the game. Trump is the master who is moving the pieces - of whom Miller is just one. Miller, like a Knight or a Rook, has a special set of useful and unique skills that the Chess Master uses for as long as it suits him.
It is a difficult thing to measure, to be sure.
We have not had a president who was able to directly fight the Establisment media for at least 50 years.
Trump has done that. You do not win in that fight by backing down.
Swing voters, or a majority of them, could easily be pleased with Miller’s performance.
Not easy to measure.
Personally I thought Stephen Miller did really well. Just look at the reaction of sheer horror on the left!

Congratulations Stephen Miller- on representing me this morning on the various Sunday morning shows. Great job! - Donald J. Trump via twitter
WOOOHOOO Stephen MIller. I really like this guy. Thank you sir.
WOOOHOOO President Donald J. Trump
Marking your words, Mark. Thanks. Interesting coming from a FReeper I have tremendous respect for. (Is all the watching frying your brain?....STEP AWAY FROM THE BOOB TUBE.
Continued thanks for ALL of your work. (I could NEVER do what you are doing)
He did great. Don’t forget, the more inconsequential things the Left screams about (like Miller’s take-no-prisoners style), the less effective they are at obstructing the actual policy moves.
Scarface is a Swamp Monster.
Lock the ALL up.
