Lemme tell ya about endangered species, all right? Saving endangered species is just one more arrogant attempt by humans to control nature. It’s arrogant meddling. It’s what got us in trouble in the first place. Doesn’t anybody understand that? Interfering with nature. Over 90 percent, over, way over 90 percent, of the species that have ever lived on this planet, ever lived, are gone. Whooosh! They’re extinct. We didn’t kill them all. They just disappeared. That’s what nature does. They disappear these days at the rate of 25 a day—and I mean regardless of our behavior. Irrespective of how we act on this planet, 25 species that were here today will be gone tomorrow. Let them go gracefully. Leave nature alone. Haven’t we done enough?

We’re so self-important; so self-important. Everybody’s gonna save something now. ‘Save the trees, save the bees, save the whales, save those snails.’ And the greatest arrogance of all, ‘save the planet.’ What? Are these ****ing people kidding me? Save the planet? We don’t even know how to take care of ourselves yet. We haven’t learned to care for one another—we’re gonna save the ****in’ planet? I’m gettin’ tired of that ****. Tired of that ****. Tired! I’m tired of ****in’ Earth Day, I’m tired of these self-righteous environmentalists, these white bourgeoise liberals who think the only thing wrong with this country is there aren’t enough bicycle paths. People trying to make the world safe for their Volvos. Besides, environmentalist don’t give a **** about the planet, they don’t care about the planet, not in the abstract they don’t, not in the abstract they don’t. You know what they’re interested in? A clean place to live. Their own habitat. They’re worried that someday in the future they might be personally inconvenienced. Narrow, unenlightened self-interest doesn’t impress me. Besides, there is nothing wrong with the planet, nothing wrong with the planet. The planet is fine. The people are ****ed. …

— George Carlin
Amazing how Ehrlich makes “four or five Earths” somehow appear out of one Earth. Does he even know the first law of thermodynamics?? Ehrlich is exactly the kind of person that Carlin was talking about.

Erlich has been peddling his doom trope for decades and hasn’t been even remotely on target yet.

I recall a Hogans Hero scene when a bomb drops into the camp and does not explode, Hogan is there, which wire to cut, red or green, Col Klink says red, Hogan cuts the green wire and they all live, Klinck said, I said the red wire, Hogan replied, that’s how I knew which to cut, you are always wrong.

Taking away the enviro-nazis right to travel would save the planet.

Ehrlich has NEVER been right about anything in his entire professional life. He's made a lucrative career with his doom and gloom predictions. Even random chance has a better track record. But to quote author Terry Goodkind, "You can get anyone to believe any lie as long as they want it to be true or are afraid it's true."

Didn’t he originally predict this would occur in 1974?

“Simon–Ehrlich wager” This pseudo-intellectual is an abject retromingent fool who loves publicity. He lost this famous bet and has never lived it down but pretends he still has credibility. Pay no attention to this blind fool. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simon%E2%80%93Ehrlich_wager

“He’s right about one species “liberalis obnoxious””

The good news is Erlich and his buddies will be gone long before then.

"Rich western countries are now siphoning up the planet’s resources and destroying its ecosystems at an unprecedented rate," said biologist Paul Ehrlich, of Stanford University in California.

IIRC this is the same clown who predicted that humanity would be finished by 2000 thanks to numerous crimes against the planet (and humanity) committed by the United States and Israel.
