Drudge Powers Trump Counter-Attack on Russia [FR Mentioned]
The Daily Beast ^ | March 3, 2017 | Gideon Resnick and Ben Collins

On Friday afternoon, President Trump tweeted an image of Senator Chuck Schumer standing next to Russian President Vladimir Putin. It depicts the two men seemingly cordially holding coffee and donuts.

“We should start an immediate investigation into @SenSchumer and his ties to Russia and Putin. A total hypocrite!” Trump wrote.

The image and the narrative framing itself is ripped directly from The Drudge Report, which included the picture and a related story at the top of its homepage on Friday.

The defensive posture from Trump and supportive media outlets is a response to the news on Thursday that Trump’s Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced that he would be recusing himself from any investigations into the alleged ties between the Trump campaign and the Russian government. Sessions recused himself after the revelation that he had spoken with Russian ambassador Sergey Kislyak—and told the Senate that he had no such contact with Kremlin officials.

“...One of the first recent iterations of the particular Schumer storyline appeared in the comment section of a Free Republic post on March 2 which was just a reprint of an article written by conservative author Erick Erickson entitled “The Jeff Sessions Attack is a Nothingburger.” That evening, Reddit user willdogs posted the image on the_donald subreddit and it was upvoted tens of thousands of times.”

Even better, now he is calling for a second investigation, Nazi Pelosi and her ties to Russia and lying about it.

You gotta love it!

Certainly Sessions should recuse himself regarding an investigation involving Trump staffers and the Russians. All the better so he can conduct a different investigation involving the Russians, Schumer, Pelosi, and Hillary! As a bonus, throw in Biden and the Ukrainians.

I don’t think the Progs have quite gotten it yet. President Trump does not seem to play defense, or if he does, it is of the Lawrence Taylor variety.

Hopefully AG Sessions is taking notes on how the game is played.

Thank you, Drudge! Nary a Republican is coming to the defense of Sessions! Cowards, or co-conspirators, all!

Trump’s approach is SO WEAK. It amounts to, “The Democrats are doing it too, so leave me alone.” They won’t leave him alone because they don’t care about being inconsistent. His message should be that the Democrats are inventing a phony enemy to distract us from America’s real enemies.

This is squarely in Drudge’s wheelhouse...a high profile issue where a single photo tells the story (to the 49 million people who view the DrudgeReport on a typical day).

The Republicans should be loudly calling for an investigation into ALL Foreign Interference in our election. Get someone like Guiliani, experienced in organized crime prosecutions, and announce the Clinton Foundation will be investigated for bribery by foreign governments. George Soros financed groups will be included. An investigation of this sort would produce many RICO indictments. This would also stop the New York Times led coupe in its tracks.

The Gop are co-conspirators , part of the establishment owned by Soros and other billionaires, the uni-party. Only Trump is on the side of the American people

Always love it when these people's snark blows up in their own faces.

Democrats really do believe it's always year Zero.
