Love the combative tone of this piece. Always thought Kurt was a battler, but I think this one is infused by an appropriate sense of indignity and a whole lot of irony.

And, of course, there is the Trump the Authoritarian/Trump the New Hitler meme. Except Trump’s apparently not very good at authoritarianism, since no one seems to be being oppressed. Has a lot of policy ideas, which he openly explained to the American people in his speech, and which he will submit to Congress to be debated and voted upon before being enacted. That seems to correspond pretty closely to how I learned a bill becomes a law on Schoolhouse Rock.

I've been saying the same thing for years now and it's nice to see someone with an audience saying it, too.

Accusing others of doing what they themselves are doing has been very effective for the demonrats.

It's actually kinda obvious most of the time, like with the Russian "Squirrel!" distraction currently in use, but when I point it out to my progressive friends and family, they don't/can't/won't see it.

Perhaps one day they will though and what fun that will be!

Here’s the utterly predictable pattern. Spazzy Dems freak out about some imagined atrocity by a conservative then, within a few hours, it becomes clear that the alleged offender did nothing wrong while conservatives scour the web and start showing how Democrat hacks are on record doing exactly the same thing times a zillion.

I am at the point now where I am absolutely convinced the mental disorder of "liberalism" has as a prominent symptom the inability to think beyond the next few minutes or perhaps a day or so.

Here is another example from a post a few days ago.

in April 2015 that the Clintons received millions of dollars from the Chairman of the firm Uranium One which were not disclosed publicly and in return the firm received uranium deposits in the US. At the same time the Russians were buying the majority stake in Uranium One. Ultimately the Clintons made millions and the Russians took over a large portion of the world’s global uranium supply chain.

Why would any normal person make baseless accusations against people that have done absolutely nothing that are identical to fully documented actions they themselves HAVE done?

Actions that they took that actually are criminal?

It's like some sort of involuntary confession in the form of accusations syndrome.

ICAS ?

It’s difficult to find humor in this madness but the artless way in which lefty media types parrot their talking points is good comedy value.

There are always a ridiculous number of them seated around a table (CNN has had a dozen or more at one time). The round table is intentional - it makes for bad TV since we’re always looking at someone’s back or the back of their head - because it implies that the overall tenor of the show is a balanced viewpoint when, obviously, the viewpoint is all liberalism all the time.

Each of them, especially the woman, takes on a deadly serious air (eg the goggle-eyed Cokie Roberts) as they utter the exact same buzzwords and catchphrases. They pretend (?) that what they’re saying is original in content and wording yet time and again they have been caught out by ‘media montages’ that show their lockstep, preplanned fusillade of cliches.

These people are literally reading the paper or an email brief minutes before they go on air. They have neither the time nor the inclination to gather their own information, let alone apply logic, chronology or anything else that might lead them to an independent viewpoint.

They spew their groupthink, have coffee and croissants and do it all again the next day.

Even when they really think the other side is doing something, it’s usually just paranoia as they’re just considering what THEY would be doing. So the other side “must” be doing it. It just reflects their thinking, nobody else.

So there probably was collusion with the Russians, by democrats.

When they point their finger and shout “hateful, intolerant bigot”, they’re actually talking about themselves.

When the claim “lying criminals” they’re deflecting.

It’s astonishing the Hillary was demonstrably exposed as a lying (admits public and private policies), cheating (all debates), criminal (broke Espionage Act). Yet her voters, to this day, only see Trump this way - without any actual evidence. Cognitive dissonance in its purest.

Your post is absolutely true, but it’s not always just limited to the “progressives”. I’m certain there’s quite a few so called conservative writers that read Free Republic to glean ideas for their next article. The very title of the article being discussed is something a number of us have pointed out. As an example, just a few days ago I posted the following:

“Since we know the democrats ALWAYS lie, and that more often than not they project negative issues onto others that they themselves embody, and given Hillary’s uranium dealing with the Russians AND Obama’s dealing as caught on the ‘hot mike’........”
http://freerepublic.com/focus/news/3531240/posts?page=30#30

I am certain that the ideas and thoughts we present in our comments have a definite impact upon the current conservative taliking points.

Is the author of this article reading FR? More likely it's a common insight. Here's my post from 3/1/17:

I've recently recognized that whatever Dems and leftists say about Trump accurately and honestly describes themselves. In this case, Rosie is exposing herself, and those that she supports, as traitors.

Judge not that you be not judged. In judging Trump, they judge themselves. For example, they call him racist, because they ARE racists.

Therefore you have no excuse, every one of you [leftists] who passes judgment [on Trump], for in that which you judge another [Trump], you condemn yourself; for you who judge practice the same things.Romans 2:1 (NASB)

Reading news this way promotes far greater understanding and is fun.

The underlying reason this works, is that their motive is political power, and Trump's is to help America and Americans. Those who think he is doing this for political power ARE themselves after political power, or see things only through that filter. The truth is Donald Trump has demonstrated great love in laying his life down for the nation. Someday he will be recognized for hero he is.

Did you ever hear of psychological projection? The liberals/rats/”progressives; whatever you want to call them, are masters in it.

“More likely it’s a common insight.”

I right now, think that’s probably it. The “progs”, libtards, dems, whatever, are going way overboard right now with their projection, and being quite blatent about it, though they cannot see it.

The hardest lesson in my life was to rise above the energy of narcissists. They will find what you are attached to and use it to manipulate you like a puppet. They see emotions as a weakness as they use other people’s emotions to manipulate them.

This sounds like that woman I had in my first marriage!
