Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz to STEP DOWN after his anti-Trump vow to hire 10,000 refugees backfired

Complete Headline: Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz to STEP DOWN after his anti-Trump vow to hire 10,000 refugees backfired, provoked a boycott by Donald supporters and hit sales.

Howard Schultz, the current CEO of Starbucks, is weeks away from stepping down from his role at the giant coffee chain next month.

The move, which was announced in December of last year, comes after his vow to hire thousands refugees in response to President Donald Trump's first travel ban appeared to hurt customer sentiment and dent their sales.

Trump supporters have called for a boycott of the chain since January 29, when Schultz vowed to hire 10,000 refugees over five years.

Schultz in a letter to employees said the promise of the American Dream was 'being called into question' and that 'the civility and human rights we have all taken for granted for so long are under attack.'

Yep $5 for a cheap cup (that will burn your hand unless you get a holder) of burnt coffee.

Sheetz, Kangaroo and Dunkin Doughnuts have better coffee.

This is a non story written by a reporter who does not understand the sequencing of events and cannot read a stock price.

Yes. Fake news.

What better way to support local entrepreneurs, local community values and local business than to visit your locally-owned coffee shop instead of the leftist corporate drones at Starbucks?

I make my own latte at home, but when I do need to buy one, I go to my local espresso stand. The owner knows me, she knows what I drink, it tastes better and it's less expensive. And should I ever forget my wallet or be short of money, she'll just tell me to get her the next time. I doubt that would happen at Starbucks. And best of all, I'm supporting someone from my town instead of sending profits to Seattle.

OMG, that cartoon is what put Howard Schultz out of a job. It tells the story perfectly.

Ben Garrison is a deplorable genius!

The fool thought only progressives were buying that expensive coffee. Btw you can get a plain cup of Joe there for $2. Great if you need to use a wireless. And I don’t care what anyone thinks when I order plain coffee. Saves money and is much less fattening.

Continue to boycott! He is not CEO, but he is still in a high position @ Starbucks!

“OMG, that cartoon is what put Howard Schultz out of a job. It tells the story perfectly.”

Actually, Schultz stepped down before that cartoon was drawn.

Therefore, the cartoon had nothing at all to do with Schultz stepping down.

My son told me that when he was stationed at Afghanistan you could SMELL an Afghani walking in the room. It was a toxic mix of feces and the worst body odor you could imagine.

Are there any indications that Starbucks’s sales are down and if so, why is it that the stock price is not down significantly?

Bon mots,

The Target CEO graphic is incredible. And it's right on. Take a look a the Google Finance chart of Target's stock price below.

As soon as Trump walked down that escalator in mid-2015, Target started having its troubles! Amazing.

Thanks for the clarification... too bad it was a good fake narrative while it lasted (5 minutes) :- )

So what’s the deal? I thought Schultz informed everyone he was stepping down today. No?

He may be stepping down. . .but I won’t be stepping up to buy any Starbucks. . .I’ll be looking for a coffee shop that wants to help “Make America Great Again.”
