...however, I could certainly be wrong. I absolutely agree that we should be DROP DEAD CERTAIN that Syria did it before doing any kind of raid or punitive strike.
I also don’t think that we need to or should put any US personnel directly at risk. If we are to strike, do it precisely with cruise missiles or drone-launched weapons. We do NOT need any of our folks killed, or captured.
Let’s all give Trump a chance. This is his first foreign policy crisis of any significance, and he’s a pretty smart guy, so I’m willing to wait and see what happens this time. I will, like most of the people on this thread, not be happy if he turns out to be a neocon interventionist...however, I think that the odds of that are quite low, as it’d prove him to be a first-order liar. His Presidency so far has been about KEEPING promises, literally going down a list of them and checking them off as they are accomplished, and it is not his style to just flat-out lie. I refuse to believe that this particular multi-billionaire with his health intact, a hot wife and a great family got into politics to just be another neocon politician. He could have stayed home and enjoyed all of those things without any of the grief that he’s been getting for the last nearly 2 years.
