I live in the county and think this is great. But with the heavy concentration of illegals in this county and the liberal attitudes of most voters, I suspect the Sheriff will be gone after the next election.
Future neighbors for the sanctuary-loving libs.
This is THE issue ripe for scotus.
State law rights against federal law . Locals want to comply.
Who trumps and what power of purse can be applied.
Throw in some possession and sales of stolen property and those arrest records look a lot like the local Bandido chapter when I lived in Washington State. The big difference being, we can kick the illegals out.
OK, so maybe I’m missing something here but all fifteen cases the sheriff mentioned are felony arrests. Isn’t the sheriff holding them and processing them based on those? Why would their immigration status make any difference?
I hope our Orange County Sheriff ignores this sanctuary nonsense for illegals.
California wants to refuse to follow federal law. Says it doesn’t have to.
California wants to make a law that all counties must be “sanctuary” cities.
Does California say localities may not refuse to follow state law? Says counties must follow state law?
As opposed to states being able to refuse federal law
They also need to show who this policy of following the law helps.
It helps the Hispanic community.
The victims of these crimes committed by these illegal aliens are overwhelmingly against Hispanics.
Too bad these GD politicians responsible for decades long open violent borders, resulting in hundreds of thousands of American victims at the hands of their precious criminal illegal alien associates, have never been held responsible.
Never forget.
What should be an i$$ue are the costs being chewed up by illegals at the expense of Californians with this Sanctuary state policy. Here us one source Californians should be looking at and start screaming...ENOUGH !
