House Speaker Paul Ryan, R-Wis., said Wednesday that the whip count in support of the American Health Care Act is "getting extremely close" to the requisite 217 votes needed to pass the bill through the House.
Ryan made the claim to radio host Hugh Hewitt, but declined to say whether a vote would take place prior to recess, which begins Friday and lasts for 10 days. Instead, he said they will bring the vote up whenever they have the votes.
"I have a policy on not commenting on when we're going to bring these votes up," Ryan said on the timing of a vote.
"We're going to bring them up when we have the votes. We're getting extremely close," he said. "We're having very, very productive conversations with our members. The president is having good conversations with our members. The vice president is. His whole staff is involved.

Executive Orders or Legislation, the chance of CONgress doing it are the same as OJ Confessing, so I am choosing Executive Orders.
1. All waivers to the Affordable Care act are hereby repealed.
2. There shall be NO funds drawn from the treasury to pay for Health Insurance for ANY Federal Employee except Members of the Armed Services.
3. ALL Federal Employees except members of the US Armed Services, SHALL purchase their own personal and Family Health Insurance from the Affordable Care Exchange in the state they legally reside.
4. There shall be NO Medicaid Reimbursement funds allocated to any State that does not have 100% of their Public Employees enrolled in the Affordable Care Act.
And to make sure it is Bipartisan, President Trump should VETO it every Time and FORCE them to Override his Veto to Repeal this Monstrosity.
Sign these 4 orders and it will be FULLY REPEALED in Less than 30 days.

“very productive conversations” I bet. We have long known that too many of them are engaged in the world’s oldest profession. Now they are haggling over the price.
If it passes the House and the Senate and the President signs it then it will become Trumpcare. With all its warts. With all its shortfalls. With all the promises that have been made about it.
The silence from Trump and the administration is deafening. As it was last time. We get the occasional twitterburst, but I don't get the sense that the administration is working the Hill. This, along with immigration, was the most fundamental of Trump's campaign pledges, but it's all been delegated to the House leadership. And of course, the Trump-can-do-no-wrong crowd will heap all the blame on Ryan if it comes up short again.
