I hope this is closed door so the Senators don’t waste everyone’s time by grandstanding and playing to cameras.

Why is there controversy? The President had the right to fire Comey. The attached memos weren't justification. What they say is......We didn't tell the President that he should NOT fire Comey...and that Comey is/was right in every turn.

E.G......It's what they didn't say.

The Deputy AG’s memo was quite thorough, straightforward, and self-explanatory.

The Demoscum are just fishing for anything they can hook onto in order to prolong the matter. It is all political b.s.

Please, God, I hope you are correct! Rosenstein may decide to walk, if there are no adults in the room in the US Senate.

Enough of the TDS approach to these briefings.

Exactly right!

So how can they use this to ask for an Independent prosecutor?

That seems to be their objective.

Every minute the RATs can tick off the clock, that keeps Pres. Trump from keeping his promises and doing the peoples business, will be considered a success.

Deputy AG said Comey mishandled the investigation of Clinton’s use of private email...

Regardless..., there will be GRANDSTANDING! Better that the testimony is broadcast for all to see!

I don’t agree with this. It bothers me to no end that McConnell is partly behind this as it is in his interest to dull Trump’s thunder. As with any appearance, if this is a QandA, it is not the answer, it is the question that becomes the issue especially how it is asked. NO ATTORNEY EVER ASKS A QUESTION THEY DO NOT KNOW THE ANSWER TO. In this case, you have two people setting up a witness and it is in both their wheelhouses to reduce the president. If Trump has any misgivings, he needs declare executive privilege or work product or whatever to keep this guy off the podium. Remember, he is a dem and as such a dem is a snake before anything else.

I don't care that Comey was fired. Good riddance! There are more that need to fired, as well. The 'Left' has had 28 years, beginning with Bush ! to infiltrate our government. They have been actively sabotaging Presidents and Congresspersons they haven't liked on a regular basis.

I hope and pray that Trump has the fortitude to weather the storms and continues to do the stellar job and MAGA by cleaning house.

The Whitehouse is perpetuating this being a “controversy”, I think maybe intentionally, by the shifting narrative on why Comey was fired.

This may all be physops on the part of the president, create a firestorm around something that is really nothing.

Things like that are usually done as a distraction but I have no clue from what or even if that is what’s going down.

If their intention is to undermine Trump then they picked the wrong guy to drag in front of the Senate. His memo was very direct and objective. In fact, after reading it I can’t imagine how Comey ever managed to graduate from high school.

Couldn’t have said it better. Bush I forward were all losers to one degree or the other, along with the Peanut Planter, the Texas Slickster Johnson and Kennedy. Nearly 100 years of idiots in the White House.

Only Reagan and Trump have been great Presidents.

NO ATTORNEY EVER ASKS A QUESTION THEY DO NOT KNOW THE ANSWER TO.

In almost all testimony to Congress, the witness has received the questions beforehand and the questioner has received the answers in writing beforehand. There isn't much meaningful straying from the script.

Slight revision:

NO REMOTELY COMPETENT ATTORNEY EVER ASKS A QUESTION THEY DO NOT KNOW THE ANSWER TO.
