At a meeting with reporters Thursday, Secret Service director Randolph Alles said President Trump is getting about 6 to 8 threats each day, about the same as President Obama. From NBC News:
The U.S. Secret Service is investigating about the same number of threats against Donald Trump as it did against the last several presidents, the agencys new director said Thursday.
The number of threats has been fairly constant over the past 10 years, about six to eight a day, said Randolph Alles, who became Secret Service director barely a month ago
The Secret Service employs about 6,500 people. Alles wants to increase that to 7,600 within the next two years and to nearly 9,600 by 2025.
Staffing shortages have also affected operations at the White House, he said, where a series of intruders have succeeded in scaling the fence and getting onto the grounds. There will be no easy solutions at the White House until we get the staffing up, he said.
Just last month the White House lawn was cleared after a woman attempted to jump a barrier to the White House. In March another intruder gained access to the White House grounds for more than 15 minutes.
Previous reports have suggested the Secret Service was stretched thin having to protect members of the Trump family in Washington, D.C., in New York at Trumps Florida resort plus wherever his adult children are traveling.
The presidents travels as well as his world-hopping adult children who also have a Secret Service detail are taking a toll on the men and women who protect the Trump family.
Former agent Jonathan Wackrow says the Secret Service is currently operating at lower numbers than they have in modern times. That combined with just the travel schedule and the need to secure multiple locations that the president resides puts a manpower strain on the Secret Service week after week.
Director Alles was apparently asked about the incident yesterday involving comedian Kathy Griffin but refused to comment. TMZ reported yesterday that the Secret Service was investigating the situation.
God is with him...I’m counting on it!! President Trump needs a supernatural type of protection that human hands CAN’T provide.
You know for as well off as x presidents become i think they need to be kicked of the duty roster after the first year out of office they can fend for themselves if something arises sure help out but no more body guards for life
Well, what I want to know is what the hell the SS is DOING about the threats.
Maybe that is who is making them.
In other breaking news, if Trump pulls out of Paris WE ALL DIE!(some day)
That number seems rather low to me. There are atleast that many threats against him on Twitter every hour.
Gee. Too bad the FBI, the CIA, the NSA and the FISA courts can’t lend a hand and help out the SS to protect the President. How about the Joint Chiefs of Staff? Haven’t heard from those guys in quite awhile. So why is it so quiet?
I wonder how many of those threats against Øbongo came from his own side?
No wonder...
I’m surprise it isn’t 50 per day.
This guy has been hated on over the top for several years now.
“Yet another thing we never hear on the mainstream news.”
Except this news came from NBC News.
Rules that allow immediate firing for allowing intruders "over the fence, through the grounds and into the White House before anyone notices," for instance.
Another instant sacking would include getting so drunk you drive through a 'protective' barrier!"
Still other grounds for instant dismissal would include discussing your job on Facebook, or whom you would or would not "take a bullet for!"
Trump Derangment Syndrome = YUUUGE!
TAKING MASSIVE FLAK! WE ARE OVER THE TARGET!
Open the bomb Bay doors!
Bet that doubles after today...
I guess the secret service doesn’t watch TV or read the internet, or monitor Democrat / Leftist / Antifa / #BLM / LaRaza etc. rallies..
There, it is more like 6-8 threats per second.
Or maybe they mean 6-8 credible threats called or mailed directly into the Whitehouse daily.
This is one of the few situations I could see get corrected with a simple change.
Right now, if someone threatens the POTUS, they will get a visit from the Secret Service, and maybe the FBI. This should change. Instead of interviewing them at home, they should detain, not arrest, them, and take them to their local office for the interview.
The interview itself should remain the same, but the psychology will be far more intimidating.
I’d like to see them arrested and thrown in the slammer on felonies for a solid 10 of actual labor to pay for it. Let’s see... 7x365x8...20,000 nut bag liberals out of circulation and well over 20,000 Dem votes gone. Expensive, but worth it.
“You have enemies? Good. That means you’ve stood up for something, sometime in your life.”

6 to 8 threats per day.
Well, they did pay her a visit:
She’s so painfully unattractive.
