Billionaire Michael Bloomberg Is Launching A Coalition To Defy Trump And Uphold The Paris Agreement
Business Insider ^ | 6-2-2017 | Lenna Garfield

Thirty cities, three states, more than 80 university presidents, and more than 100 companies are part of a growing group intending to uphold the Paris Agreement, the climate-change accord that President Donald Trump on Thursday announced the US would be exiting.

The group, called the United States Climate Alliance, is being organized by the billionaire philanthropist Michael Bloomberg.

The coalition plans to submit a plan to the United Nations that commits to greenhouse-gas limits set in the Paris Agreement, according to The New York Times. It is negotiating with the UN to form its own National Determined Contribution — a set of emissions standards for each participating nation under the Paris Agreement — that is accepted alongside the other 194 countries in the accord.

Founded in 2015, the Paris Agreement aims to curb climate change before the global average temperature reaches a point that scientists say would have catastrophic and irreversible effects on the planet.

Bloomberg, the former New York City mayor, now serves as the UN secretary-general's special envoy for cities and climate change. On Friday, Bloomberg Philanthropies, his charitable organization, also pledged to donate approximately $15 million over the next two years to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change. Under Trump's budget, the UN stands to lose $2 billion in funding toward climate-change action programs by leaving the Paris Agreement.

Anyone is free to take any action they like - including giving away money, etc - just don’t take $5000 annually from me AND make energy prices higher!

Maybe he will stop his mindless, relentless fanatical attack on my God given right to defend myself for a while.

How is making individual choices using local or private money “defying” a decision not to have the federal government force it upon us?

these folks have lots of bucks riding on the world adopting their bs as fact..

make it against the law to have taxation without representation..sound familiar?

Only with regard to ACCUSATIONS regarding Ivanka and the Russians. Anything the libs and America-haters actually DO is perfectly fine.

This points to the real issue: those who want to “fix” climate change, blaming mankind for it, are doing nothing themselves to.
Trump is doing more for “climate change” by pulling out, prompting the Left to actually start doing something about it _themselves_, than 8 years of Obama ever did.

Problem is - they WON’T leave you alone. You live in New York and that state along with California and Washington has promised to spend millions in your tax dollars to throw away at Climate Change.

These people are something else. As long as it’s their money they flush down the sewer, I don’t care.
