Ivanka Trump appeared on Fox & Friends this morning and provided a solid and dispassionate defense of many of the controversies and criticisms surrounding the presidency of her father.
Co-host Brian Kilmede opened with a polite question about the James Comey hearing from last week, and Ms. Trump gave the predictable response that “my father felt very vindicated,” before continuing with “and all the statements that he has been making and feels incredibly optimistic.” She then pivoted to a topic that continued for the balance of the interview, saying “You know, at the White House and throughout the administration, we were incredibly focused on the reason we all went to Washington.”
Since the White House press staff have begun to defer all questions about the investigation into Russian election to President Trump’s legal team, the vacuum of surrogates willing to appear on Trump’s behalf has fallen to family members: Donald Trump Jr. appeared Saturday night with Judge Jeanine Pirro over the weekend and, now, Ivanka today on Fox & Friends.
The interview was filled with both the sort of softball questions and politically expedient bromides one might expect in such chummy confines. The one bit of interest came when the presidential daughter admitted that the level of meanness they’ve felt inside the Beltway caught her off-guard.

Your dad is a threat to over a century of Progressivism, and that earns a lot visceral hate among the deeply-entrenched Progressives in the FedGov.
IMO, to be fair, their rallies were huge with supporters and the viciousness has exponentially increased since Election Day because (most of?) Trump’s biggest haters didn’t really think he would win.

After she has now experienced first hand the deadly venom from the DC establishment and the commie left, are she and hubby still liberal democrats?
This is a good thing, because what is happening to the Trump family is right now is being noticed by people who share the same and are uncomfortable with it all.
Case in point - Ivanka posted a little video of her dancing with her son and you would have thought every ms-with-a-bajina's collective head was exploding.
Young moms out there who might been on the fence about stuff are upset about Ivanka being lambasted for such an innocent thing.
That’s hard to believe. She must have been sleeping during the 18 months before the election.
Well, here is a news flash. It is not going to let up until you all start hitting back hard, real hard....
Hopefully Ivanka and her entire family will never forget the evil bitterness of their fellow leftists. They hate the Trumps because the president has an “R” behind his name.
I imagine she was told to say that. She could not have watched the past decade in America, including the election, without noticing that the Ctrl-Left is pure evil.
She was watching the past decade while she hung out with her NY pal, Chelsea Clinton.
Yep. The evil displayed by the left is intense, and you have to be naive to not notice it's being orchestrated by above. The Ctrl-Left is ramping up the viciousness and we had better fight back to support President Trump and take back our nation. Much of the rest of the world may be lost, but we have to focus on us.
She is right to be surprised. Her father turned to the same Goldman-Sachs and Council on Foreign Relations folks for a huge percent of governance, and installed Ivanka and her husband, good trendy social liberals, in White House offices with Jamie Gorelick to advise them.
Resisting invasion and rolling back a few government regulations is just too much for today’s Marxists, who are becoming increasingly Leninist-Stalinist. Ivanka needs to rethink her feelings of comfort with such folks, and not blame it on ‘D.C.’
Imagine the viciousness if she weren’t liberal.
