1.9 Million Obamacare Cancellations

Most cite high costs and insurers dropping coverage!

Roughly 1.9 million Americans canceled their Obamacare coverage in 2017. Most cited high premiums and disruptions in coverage as the reason, according to two reports from the Department of Health and Human Services.

The agency announced that 12.2 million consumers had selected an Obamacare plan or were reenrolled by the end of open enrollment on January 31, 2017. Only 10.3 million of those consumers, however, committed to the purchase by paying their premiums, leaving roughly 1.9 million Americans who essentially canceled their coverage.

"In order to get a complete picture about enrollment numbers, it is more accurate to highlight the number of people who actually paid their premiums than those who simply selected a plan," the department said. "The data on drops in effectuated enrollment shows that, on average since 2014, more than a million enrollees per year have dropped their coverage before the end of the plan year."

To those 1.9 million, I say, “you’re late to the party”. Jan 1, 2014 was when I did it. It’s not worth the money. It wasn’t then and it certainly isn’t now.

I had a choice - keep my house or keep my obamacare coverage. I kept the house.

Yet there is some jerk on Fix News just now trying to imply that the 1.9 million left somehow due to “Trumpcare”.

Fox News is beyond awful these days.

Good! Now, Trump needs to cancel/refund to “no coverage” tax (read: fine).

Of the 10 million enrolees in Obamacare, Democrats are angry that Trump will throw 20 million off the rolls. His new plan will only cover 30 million according to Democrats insisting that the remaining 50 million must be covered as well.

If your insurance is so costly you can’t use it, it’s tempting to drop it for all but the most responsible, as is the case with me.

It’s one of our largest monthly bills, and one that gives back the least for our money.

But, we’ll need it in case, so......

I hear you.
This medical cost sharing plan has been working very well for me so far.

https://libertyhealthshare.org/

$199 / mo, $500 deductible, fast 30 claim medical reimbursement, and pitbull effective at negotiating with hospital billing department crooks (*most hospitals use a “charge book” that bills at 500% to 1000% above actual procedure / treatment cost).

They are reading Indivisible.org and trumpcareten.org websites, which have 25-page “ADVOCACY Guides” on HOW TO STOP TRUMP.

No kidding.

All Soros-funded of course.

That line that it’s Trump’s fault is straight out of the guide.

Meant to type: “fast 30-day medical bill claim reimbursement”

0bamascam is just that a blatant scam. It makes the 0bamaphytes feel good to quote false numbers by saying one has insurance and actually having some usable coverage which is two different things. Yes if one is paying in over a $1000 per month for a $5000 deducible plan it counts as one having insurance coverage even though they cannot pay the deductible. If the person is working for $10-15 per hour and forced into paying for 0bamascam they might have to sleep in their car and eat a lot of Raman noodles. But Hey it helps out the welfare recipients

>>>Good! Now, Trump needs to cancel/refund to “no coverage” tax (read: fine).<<<

Turbo tax gave me a penalty for not having health insurance in 2016. I got a letter from the IRS where they say I’m due a refund.

The tax amount didn’t line up with what was on my return. I looked it over and the discrepancy was exactly due to the penalty. So what you say he needs to do has been done.

How about losing customers? You know, people who actually work and spend their own money?

American Express was a monumental fail (of their advertised emergency services) for our family in 1993. So much so that no family member would ever again consider their card, even if it was free; hell, even if they paid ME monthly to use their card.
