A pair of Swedish priests has demanded the country and church stop celebrating the Swedish national holiday “National Day” saying nationalism and patriotism are “poison”. Priests Peter Englund and Helena Myrstener from the southern, heavily migrant-populated Swedish city of Malmö have said Swedish people should stop celebrating “National Day”.
They claim that “nothing good has come out of nationalism or patriotism” and the day has been “exploited by right wing populist forces” in an editorial for left wing Swedish newspaper Dagens Nyheter.
“The nation-state is a way to organise and administer but nothing to revere,” the pair wrote. National Day, which occurs June 6 every year, replaced Whit Monday becoming the official Swedish national holiday in 2005.
According to Englund and Myrstener, patriotism is a “poison” writing: “Patriotism has its roots in the patriarchal thinking that celebrates traditional masculinity as strength, competition, inequality, and reduces men to soldiers, and women to mothers. It goes without saying that this does not create good conditions for a world without borders.”
The best way to be proud of being Swedish, according to the authors, is to celebrate the right to vote and enjoy the various parks and nature in Sweden.

Notice how ‘treason’ and ‘enemy of the state’ are things you no longer hear spoken or written by the media. It’s all about refugees, which is interchangeable with asylum seeker; human-rights, interchangeable with national entitlements; open-borders and free-society. A universal law: Holidays are not taken away. Even people that don’t care about the reason, will not give them up.
There may be some bad examples of nationalism, but for the most part a common desire of a population to keep itself alive is a healthy mechanism in the world.
Sure beats bloody international collectivism.
The left, on the other hand, in the 20th century, was directly responsible for more death by tyranny than all other governments combined in the history of the world. 100 million in China under Mao; 50 million in Russia under stalin; 20 million in Germany under Hitler. Lots of lesser despots running “socialist” governments averaging 1 million each. It was patriotic nationalists tat ended the slaughter and brought back civilization. The trouble with liberals is they believe their own lies.

In Sweden they still call their Lutheran ministers “priests”. Kind of an odd hold over from the days when they had Christian priests.
The globalists want to destroy the notion of nations but ultimately it’s bringing back tribalism and a divergence of societies.
