Delingpole: Report Confirms – Carbon Capture and Storage Is Not the Magic Cure for Global Warming

Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) – the miracle technology which will supposedly allow us to burn more coal while saving the planet from global warming – is a complete waste of time and energy.

It’s so expensive that it makes even renewables and nuclear look cheap.

These findings – from a report by Professor Gordon Hughes, Professor of Economics at the University of Edinburgh and a former adviser to the World Bank – vindicate a recent call by President Trump to cut the 2018 budget for CCS research by 77 percent.

Hmmm. Well, to paraphrase a former can't-i-date: "What difference at this point does it make?" Didn't we just see a report yesterday that stated we only have 3 years to turn this around or we're DOOMED! DOOMED I tell ya.

We are doomed by the spending of idiots.

Plant trees, it is cheap, efficient, environmentally sound and the most pleasant of the solutions. Look what millions of trees did for Israel.

Want to capture more carbon?

Plant more trees.

The believers in the CCS idiocy should realize that it would make as much sense for them to support hiring a million people to dig holes and hiring a million other people to fill the holes immediately after they are created. That hole scheme makes as much economic & environmental sense as CCS. Actually, it makes more sense— at least you’d have two million people somewhat more physically fit.

Magic Cure for Global Warming which needs to be cured... why exactly? Every dire prediction so far has rolled snake-eyes.

Some day in the distant future, when we have met various alien civilizations in the galaxy, I bet we will be eligible to win any existing pan-galactic contest for “most expensive hoax in the history of a single planet”.

Carbon capture or any other reduction in CO2 scheme must be counterproductive now that the actual climate likelihood is the beginning of another Little Ice Age. Cold decades are characterized by massive crop failures and famine. The French Revolution was triggered by Little Ice Age famine. By reducing the plant food at the same time that the agricultural zone is shrinking toward the equator we will exacerbate the effects.

And, predictions of a soon to appear solar minimum. Should be interesting.

Plant Mesquite trees. Smoke NY Steaks over chopped up Mesquite.
Rinse and repeat.

They are trying to manipulate the carbon cycle which is part and parcel to life. Perhaps they should understand it before they try to manufacture large scale changes to the “storage” portion of the cycle.

I've been doing my bit to combat Globull Warming. I call it the LCSP™. You see, as just about any environmentalist whacko will tell you, plastics are extremely durable materials. They take thousands if not millions of years to degrade back to their constituent elements. Plastics are also basically long carbon polymer chains. Thus, as a carbon storage mechanism they really do seem to fit the bill quite well.

Lego™ bricks produced by The Lego Group are high-quality ABS plastic that stands up well to the test of time. I have Lego™ bricks that are 40 years old, yet they work perfectly well with other Lego™ bricks you might purchase today. As such they are really high quality carbon sequestration modules. In my LCSP™ (Lego Carbon Sequestration Program), I am attempting to do my bit for humanity and the planet itself by purchasing as much of these high-quality sequestration modules as I can.

Any AFL (Adult Fan of Lego) can participate in the LCSP™ merely by messaging me here on FR.

HAND, and do your part! Buy More Lego Today!
