The militant left-wing group AntiFa plans to cause mayhem, violence and vandalism at Gettysburg National Park this weekend which has FEDS and the Park Service acting with an "abundance of caution."
The Park Service says it is keeping track of numerous possible indicators of trouble at the Battle of Gettysburg anniversary from July 1-3 – including reports that AntiFa may be planning to damage memorials and even desecrate gravestones at the historic battleground where the Union turned the tide of war against the South in 1863, Fox reports.
When contacted by Fox News the United States Park Police said that they are treating the reports seriously and are working with several law enforcement agencies to ensure that if anyone chooses to exercise their free speech rights, they do so lawfully.
"Reports of possible AntiFa activities in Gettysburg have been a part of our preparation and planning," said U.S. Park Police Sgt. Anna Rose. “Park staff have been coordinating with local law enforcement agencies including the Borough of Gettysburg, Cumberland Township, Pennsylvania State Police, the United States Park Police, and other National Park Service law enforcement specialists."
Several legitimate and long-existing groups have attained permits to gather, including the Sons of Confederate Veterans. But others like ANTIFA SCUM are planning protests without attaining permits.
According to Harrisbirg 100, at least one "Antifa" group began informing supporters that they intended to burn Confederate and American flags in the town. The site cited an EventBu page advertising the protest. The event listing, though, was soon deleted Breitbart reports.
A civil war enthusiast page also found two Facebook pages advertising protests to be held at Gettysburg. After being discovered, though, those pages were also quickly deleted.
One of the warnings read:
There is an event set up on Facebook that calls for the desecration of Confederate cemeteries on Confederate Memorial Day. Specifically, on Saturday, May 13, 3-6 PM, this group intends to target Old Marietta Confederate Cemetery. They intend to burn CBFs and/or urinate on graves. They also have an event scheduled for July 1, 3-6 PM, at Gettysburg National Memorial Park Cemetery… The group urges their followers to "find their local Confederate graves" to desecrate.
Park officials say that while they are all for our First Amendment rights, they are prepared for disruptions.
"Our goal is to ensure that public safety and visitor safety is number one and that park resources are preserved," said Katie Lawhon, a spokeswoman for Gettysburg National Military Park.
"If individuals or groups decide to act unlawfully, plans have been put in place to efficiently address them while allowing other members of the public to enjoy the democratic process," said the Park Police.

I’d hate to see graves desecrated with ANTIFA blood, but I could learn to live with it.
I’d be suspicious of this being a diversion from another location where they’ll actually show up. Think ahead, Sun Tzu style.
Their fun and games will continue until one or more of them end up shot because they did the wrong stupid stuff in the wrong stupid place.

I think we should get cattle prods and poke them in the urine puddles as they urinate on the graves and send a strong message upwards. They might not understand it otherwise that we really take umbrage at their hubris.
Actually I do not understand why they are not considered terrorists? They are destroying government property if they do what they have threatened.
