he would have been safer in ICU..i know it sounds weird but most likely someone didn’t wash their hands and he got a virus..same thing happened to my grandfather he was in the hospital for a stroke, was supposed to get transferred to rehab..bam..he got a bug from the hospital and it killed him

Sepsis can take you out quick...

Yep. A family member of mine went from ambulatory to hospice in a few days. Boom. Nothing could be done but medicate him to ease the pain.

Hope it is not C Diff. Bad bacteria present in intestine. Rears it’s head when heavy duty antibiotics are used.

You all should know..all patients are not the same.

Age

Injury

Etc......

Sepsis in one patient..is a death sentence..sepsis in another is not.....

Hopefully he has a good team...and good ID Doc on the case.

This is not good. I pray he recovers.

I saw this posted on the MSN app, and look at this comment:

“Good, Hope this white supremacist klan member don’t make it..”

I’m omitting the guy’s name even though it’s there, but you can read the comments yourself.

I’m praying that the doctors actually TRY the Vitamin C treatment for sepsis that has had some success. In the last year, I’ve had two very close friends lose family members to sepsis. The sudden loss of a loved one has devastated them! I don’t understand why the doctors won’t even try this treatment. Just TRY it - there is nothing to be lost! The pros outweigh the cons!

If he did have a serious intestinal wound that is a horrible thing to treat.

Word from his doctors at the time of the shooting was that the bullet fragmented causing a lot of internal damage to bones and soft tissue. I don't want to speculate or get gruesome, but it's easy to imagine the male body structure and organs in the pelvis, and to further imagine the probable injuries Rep. Scalise sustained. He is likely to have some permanent health issues for the rest of his life.

Agree...about not all patients the same. Had an ELDERLY uncle who had sepsis and fully recovered. Was a rough week - two weeks, but he came through it and lived to tell many more tales.

This is sad news. I am praying for Rep. Scalise. My father died from a hospital infection (Acinetobacter) that has a high mortality rate in ICU patients. I assume Mr. Scalise was on a ventilator when he was in critical condition. That opens the door to a lot of nasty, antibiotic-resistant pathogens.

”I’m sure it is sepsis. Shot through the intestines”

There is a USA company called CYTOSORBENTS CORP. They have a blood filter that works inline with dialysis, no modifications needed. Currently this filter is approved access Europe to prevent cytokin storms during Heart surgery. IT IS very effective. BUT end game is to get it approved for Septis. I would think if Doctors even knew about this filter maybe they could request some kind of emergency use although not FDA approved. So if by any slim chance there are any connected Politicians or Doctor’s on this thread and things look grim.........

I won't anyway. I am always very conscious of all the horror committed by adherents to Marxism and its many derivative "isms." It's why I will always oppose them.

FATHER GOD,

We stand on Your Promises of healing for Rep. Steve Scalise. Thank You for protecting him during the terrorist attack and seeing him through thus far.

May HOLY SPIRIT flow through his body cauterizing any bleeding and purifying every infected cell. May the blood of JESUS cleanse his body and make him whole.

LORD, nothing is impossible for You. Heal Rep. Scalise from the top of his head to the bottom of his feet. May he give You the glory!

In JESUS’ Name we pray. Amen.
