Partner of Cop who Fatally Shot Bride-to-be 'was STUNNED when his Colleague opened Fire [Trunc]

The partner of a Minneapolis cop who shot dead bride-to-be Justine Damond was 'stunned' when the officer opened fire through a squad car door, sources say.

Officer Matthew Harrity, who was in the driving seat, was speaking to Damond after she called 911 to report a sexual assault occurring near her home, when his partner reached across him and fatally shot her in the abdomen.

A police source told KARE11 that Harrity was 'left stunned' by Noor's actions.

The revelation makes the motive for shooting all the more mysterious as it appears that Harrity did not view Damond as posing a threat.

The Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, BCA, investigating the incident, is remaining tight lipped about what happened late that Saturday night until they finish interviewing Noor and Harrity as part of their probe.

Meanwhile, the Mayor of Minneapolis Betsy Hodges is demanding to know why neither officer had their bodycam turned on at the time, which she called a 'key question' for investigators.

Your view is different....depending on whwre exactly the person is standing....just like when that metal pullar between the windshield and the driver’s window hides a pedestrian....move your head 6 inches and you see the pedestrian.

I once watched in dash camera video that showed a guy doing an arson 40 yrds away.

But the camera was in the middle of the widshield and of course the cop was in the driver’s seat.

That pillar completely hid the arsonist from the cop’s view. Nobody would have believed it if we did not makena video with a phone from both angles/viewing points.

Probably blocked 23-27 defrees of vision.

Thats why I say it is possible. But it is up to the shooting officer to explain

Mostly agree, I think this was dispatched as a “disturbance” call...but I cannot find the early part of the transcript. I don’t think body cams are the “be all-end all’ for law enforcement, but could be a help in certain situations.

it was in the from the New York Daily News

“Justine Damond called police about a possible sexual assault outside her house in Minneapolis, but was fatally shot when officers arrived.”

“Possible Assault” from other sources: http://stmedia.startribune.com/documents/1abcanew071917.pdf
Also in that document: “Officer Noor declined to be interviewed”...looking more & more like “SJS”(Sudden Jihad Syndrome). Officer Noor had 3 citizen complaints and 1 lawsuit lodged against him in 21 months on the job.

Also, here is a local that agrees 100% with you...apparently the police union had major input into when/where body cams would be turned on: http://www.startribune.com/jon-tevlin-where-justine-damond-died-cameras-roll-too-late/435297343/

Most definitely. His lame excuse that he heard a noise prior doesn't cut it, either.
