Donald Trump, Jr. appears to be the latest figure in President Donald Trumps inner circle to be caught in the giant web of the Great Kremlin Conspiracy. Trump the younger said he was promised dirt on Hillary Clinton, but that all he got in his June 2016 meeting with a Russian lawyer was an earful about dropping the Magnitsky Act, which sanctions Russian officials involved in the death of a Russian lawyer who was killed in detention.
If the Trump, Jr. meeting is just another chapter in the Beltway telenovela about Trump selling out America to the Russians through an ever-changing cast of supposed intermediariescome back, Mike Flynn and Carter Page, we hardly knew yeit sheds valuable light on the ways and means by which the news that fills our iPhone screens and Facebook feeds is now produced. You see, the Russian lawyeroften carelessly presented as a Russian government lawyer with close ties to PutinNatalia Veselnitskaya, who met with Trump, also worked recently with a Washington, D.C. commercial research and strategic intelligence firm that is also believed to have lobbied against the Magnitsky Act. That firm, which also doubles as an opposition research shop, is called Fusion GPSfamous for producing the Russia dossier distributed under the byline of Christopher Steele, a former British intelligence agent for hire.

Reading the article I went back and forth from saying "dirty propagandists" to saying "heck yes expose em".
This is one of the best and most important article I've read in years.
It brings some of the battle lines we face ever day into focus.
I'm NO FAN of Fusion GPS, but this author "totally get's it". (these guys are taking lessons from the vermin Roy Gutman (the Nation), Propagandist for hire)
As Rush often says, "follow the money".
I totally missed this subtitle:
“News of the News: How the new sausage gets made”
The Dems have become monsters....not interested in Democracy, the people, the children (they vote to kill them) or climate. It's all about power and money and losing.
for later
Why didn’t you post the entire article?

You are 100% Correct.
My take of the article is that firms like Fusion GPS are the lobbyists of journalism.
This should be interesting because the dirt diggers like anonymity but now they are being dragged into the sunlight.
They’re mercenary propagandists and they’ve not just interfered with our elections they’ve taken over the mass media, both in print and online. They’re largely doing the bidding of the unelected permanent state because that’s where the money is, and the unelected permanent state is almost entirely leftist. This situation needs to be disrupted and discredited in every way by every means possible.
This article is extremely worthwhile — thanks for posting and recommending it. And the amount you posted was just right for a long article.
The substitution of mercenary covert ops and government insider propaganda for journalism is toxic in an uninformed democracy. Media credibility is in sharp decline, but millions still buy the lies; the propagandists are clearly destabilizing the elected gov’t and setting the national agenda. The public generally assumes that “fake news” results from low standards and the scramble for attention — it needs to be common knowledge that it is the deliberate result of a corrupt system. Exposing the con-artists is indeed the best way to defeat this. We need to identify more shops than GPS Fusion.
The NDAA, National Defense Authorization Act, that in 2012 unleashed domestic propaganda operations upon the US, which was illegal under the prior Smith-Mundt Act of 1948.
Given the circumstance, can this Act be nullified by Executive Order? The disruption of the Presidential election of 2016 was tremendous, and there is what amounts to a coup attempt ongoing as a result of the NDAA.
Propaganda should have remained banned in this country.
Excellent find!! Thank you.
the article was really long, but worth the read, imo.
here’s an excerpt from the piece fyi:
“The Trump-Russia story has frequently been likened to Watergate, a specious comparison since the latter started with evidence of a crime and the former with publication of an anthology of fables, pornography, and Russian-sourced disinformation put together and distributed by partisan political operatives. The salient comparison is rather in the effectit has the same feel as Watergate. And its taking up the same space as Watergateand thats because comms shops-for-hire like Fusion GPS have assumed the role that the American press used to occupy.”
Thanks for posting. Suspicions confirmed in many cases however some details are new to me.
