Heard that drug use became his downfall.
A devilishly difficult game, perhaps, but not the devils game, which I assume you meant admirably. The only honest game left, one in which judgment calls play no role. The ball drops, or it doesn’t...for all to see. Beautiful game for life
PGA in two weeks.
Congratulations to Jordan Speith. He’s a class act and for such a successful 23-year old, has his head screwed on correctly. Extremely proud of this young man.
Would have liked to see Kuchar win too - Ga Tech after all - but over the last five holes Speith just played a different higher-level game.
Another side note: Arnold Palmer never won another major after quitting smoking. Weird...

Thanks. Couldn’t watch because of work. Got it on DVR.
Too bad for Matt Kuchar. A good guy who deserves a major one of these days.
...
Kuchar was such a gentlemen both days he played with Spieth. I could have enjoyed either of them winning, though I was pulling for Spieth. I felt bad for Kuchar.
Did you catch the comment Spieth made about Kuchar telling him to acknowledge the fans as they walked up to 18 green on Saturday?
Spieth’s full 25 minute presser:

Interesting comment - Spieth said his drive on 13 hit someone on their head which caused the ball to go MUCH further right. Spieth said if it had NOT hit the fan, it would have stayed closer to fairway and not gone over that large dune.
He also had some very kind words about Kucher and his family.
Even though he hasn’t won in years and doesn’t even play any more, the media still kisses his arrogant butt.
Here’s a top headline from yahoo! sports from today:
Big news!! Tiger Woods has a pool table!
It’s just unbelievable. Woods is scum and I’m so glad that will be his true legacy.
When that cameraman snapped his shutter during Spieth’s downswing on that pitch shot on 17, forcing him to stop his swing at the very last second, Spieth just smiled at him. Woods would have been all over the poor S.O.B.
Wonderful final round! Love how play coverage continued through commercials.
Congratulations to both Spieth and Kuchar! Well played, Yanks!
That didn’t stop the liberal media from their focus on him.
Thanks. THAT’s the kind of story I expect from the media during a major sports event.
Was that when he told him to put away the yardage book and enjoy the moment?
Damn! Exact same thing happened to me!
Me too. I think I heard one of the announcers say that Kuchar's only chance of winning was to hit Spieth with a 2x4 when he wasn't looking.
It would have been Kuchar's first major I believe. Well he certainly didn't fold and gave Spieth no ground. Probably the best final round play I've watched in a long time.
Kuchar did take home 1 mil in prize money so he's got that going for him.
love to watch, would rather play, so I was out playing with my son.
His caddy, Michael, will also get a fine paycheck as the typical 10% will yield about $185k.
Spieth, in his speech, gave Michael a lot of credit for keeping him calm and capturing the jug.
