If anyone saw the the scores at the beginning of round four and then at the end (same spread for same first and second player) they might have thought it was a ho-hum round. It was anything but. With All the bogeys on the first few holes and Li sitting there at -6, anything could have happened. Too bad both Spieth and Kuchar couldn’t have won. It was a riveting tournament or at least round four.
Is it possible that Spieth was playing defensively while he was in the lead, but switched to offensive when he got behind? A switch was definitely flipped.
He will always be in the news until the day he dies, just like Arnold Palmer and just like Jack Nicklaus is. That is just the way it is.
There is nothing you can do about it, either. If Tiger had not had back problems, he probably would have won more majors than Nicklaus by now and would be called the greatest golfer ever lived, so count your blessings.
Since it is obvious you don't keep up with golf, why does it bother you? I just ignore the Tiger stories and move on. On PGA tournaments, he is rarely mentioned since he is not playing, so take a deep breath and then exhale.
So, I will repeat. Tiger will be in the news until the day he dies. Arnold Palmer was in the news until the day he died and as Jack Nicklaus is to this day. He is world famous which means he will be in the news for decades to come even if he does not play another round of golf.
I was part of the huge crowd on the eighteenth at the Trevelers when Jordan Spieth hit that shot out of the bunker. It was electric!
I picked him to win but was really disappointed at the playing conditions. I didn’t watch all the coverage but saw some wind and rain but other times it looked like they were playing Pebble Beach in April. And the fairways and rough was as green as Augusta in April. And that’s not to take anything away from Jordan Spieth’s victory because they were all playing the same course. Although some of the hole locations were pretty diabolical, the speed of the greens didn’t seem to bother anyone a whole lot. Will Spieth equal or surpass T. Wood’s total of 14? I doubt it because the level of competition is way better than it was when Tiger reigned supreme.
Sounds like you missed your calling at ESPN.
Awesome match!
Yeah, that’s what I am thinking about but, I missed the comment and the text of the conversation. I thought it had something to do with showing respect for the fans.
Feherty-ism...
“How would you beat him?”
“With a stick, while he slept”
