Republican Senator Jeff Flake provoked the ire of supporters of President Donald Trump by penning an editorial criticizing the president and accusing his party of being in denial over the state of the U.S. government.
Flakes editorial, published in Politic Magazine on Monday, slammed his fellow conservatives for failing to stand up against Trump.
Too often, we observe the unfolding drama along with the rest of the country, passively, all but saying, Someone should do something! without seeming to realize that that someone is us, said Flake. And so, that unnerving silence in the face of an erratic executive branch is an abdication, and those in positions of leadership bear particular responsibility.

Pathetic!
This is what happens when states have “open” primaries....
McConnell would rather have people like Flake and Strange from Alabama in the Senate than any of their potential replacements. That’s because they are more controllable. So watch McConnell do everything in his power to ensure Flake wins his primary.
“...slammed his fellow conservatives...”
Flake is no conservative...He is only what his name implies...A flake....
I wonder if there is a clue to Flake’s personality in his family name?
The 17th Amendment destroyed the US Senate.
The press has a new darling... a quisling ready and willing to bash Republicans...
How how there aren’t any ‘maverick’ Democrats ‘ready and willing’ to bash fellow democrats... Or is the press their usual biased jerky little selves? Helping Democrats - hurting Republicans?>
Check out that phony dye job on his hair. Where is his surf board? He is a hodad, a fake surfer.
Can someone add Flake to this picture? Thanks?
How come there aren't any 'maverick' Democrats 'ready and willing' to bash fellow democrats?
Or is the press their usual biased jerky little selves? Helping Democrats - hurting Republicans?
Run someone against this guy - anyone. He's a jerk - we don't want him or need him.
The 17th Amendment destroyed the US Senate.Yea because no state legislators would ever have appointed the likes of Flake, McCain, McConnel, Collins, Feinstein, Harris, Grahm, insert names here:_______. < /sarcasm >
I wrote Flakey-—he won’t take phone calls & neither will McTurd.
Got back a form letter “I will support Pres. Trump when appropriate, criticize when appropriate . . .” blah, blah.
And the GOP always have someone tripping over themselves to become that little darling. The typical mentality of these arrogant do-nothings who can’t work in the real world due to their lack of work ethic and common sense. With a few exceptions it’s apparent DC is the place lawyers go to rape tax payers of millions and build their power like the ego maniacs they are regardless of the consequence to American people or their country.
Newsweak runs to the rescue...
This Conservative voted against McCain last year and promises to vote against The Flake next year both in the primary and in the general election. I register temporarily as a Republican to vote in the primaries.
Did you notice that AZ Congressman Trent Franks was the first to call for Mueller’s resignation. So we are not all bad.
The second McLain RINO
Never has a name been so appropriately bestowed.
We all know that Flake is aptly named . He is a classic non conservative Rino — Old GOPe . These losers have no place to go but down. The party has left them at the bus station. They delude themselves into believing that they have constituency when that constituency is squarely behind the Trump MAGA agenda. Always listen for these code word from the anti Trumpers. “ I am with him when he is right and against him when he is wrong” That means Trump is never right.I am encouraged that the Arizona Governor will select a real conservative to replace McCain soon and that will give Arizona at least one conservative Senator.
The Flake/McCain combo is as liberal as Schumer/Gillibrand or Feinstein/Harris
