OLYMPIA, WASH. (August 2, 2017) The Evergreen State College has been named one of The Princeton Reviews Best 382 Colleges.
Published on Tuesday, The Princeton Reviews Best 382 Colleges, 2018 Edition includes a variety of best-of lists based on the results of a survey of 137,000 current college students. In addition to inclusion on the publications flagship list of 382, Evergreen is also on two additional lists, Green Colleges and Best Western.
We picked the 382 best colleges for our book primarily for their outstanding academics, said Princeton Review Editor-in-Chief Robert Franek in a press release issued on July 31. We highly recommend each one.
The analysis of Evergreen in the guide includes a variety of statistics and ratings, including a 91/99 rating for interesting professors and an 87/99 rating for quality of life.
The Princeton Review also published snippets of the surveys completed anonymously by Evergreen students. Many pointed to the collaborative relationships shared by students and faculty, while others commented on the interactive curriculum.
One student noted that almost every student "actively engages the material with field work, undergraduate research, and extended trips." A seconded added class time is spent doing workshops, seminars, or a led discussion where everyone participates."
Surveyed students also heralded Evergreens forested, coastal campus. "(There is) no shortage of local hiking, backpacking, and biking opportunities, wrote a student. "Our campus is set back in this magical forest with these winding paths down to the beach, shared another.
Evergreen is frequently included in best-of lists and rankings published by national media. In 2016, the college was named the 8th Best Masters University in the country by Washington Monthly and U.S. News & World Report ranked the college in the top five for undergraduate teaching, innovation, and public schools among regional universities in the West.

The Fighting Geoducks!
LOL! This is hilarious.
Evergreen has got to be in the top 10 if rated for the number of snowflakes attending.
Says all about both places.

So THE top 2 ‘professions’ for their graduates are Community Service and Office support. Don’t think I need to add anything to that....
Look out #381 Evergreen has you in its sights!
No, Monica went to Lewis and Clark (Portland, OR).
Lewis and Clark in Portland, Oregon. Not Evergreen.
Lifelong WA resident. Evergreen State and Academics only go in the same sentence when used by someone that has never met an Evergreen State grad. I know quite a few, and they are dumber than rocks ... but what do you expect from a college that does not hand out grades.
Great school I heard they are up for a Lenin Peace prize for social justice.
Living 2 miles from the “school”, my general opinion is it is a 4 year internship for the State of Wa and the city of Olympia. No one elsewhere will have you.
Best college to dump my trash at perhaps...
I suppose it might be one of the best if you’re a Frankfurt School Stalinist...
