I am pretty sure this has been their culture for Google’s entire existence.

I avoid google as much as possible. Don’t have gmail. It’s not my default search engine.
And whenever I see google cookies on my laptop, I delete them. They are EVERYWHERE.

If you believe your company needs a “vice president for diversity” then you’re doing it wrong. Hiring someone based on their ethnicity, race, creed, gender or color is the definition of “Racist” – This is the new “Progressivism” and needs to be brought to a screeching halt.
I don’t like what Google did, but it is their whorehouse, and they can put up whatever curtains they want.
Philosophically I agree with you. As a practical matter, Google needs to be smashed, and I'm not picky about the means of accomplishing it.
Since they reject the premise that the dearth of women in their Corporation is due to women's preference not to work in such fields, the only conclusion left is that Google must be deliberately discriminating against women in their hiring practices.
The Department of Justice needs to immediately file a massive class action lawsuit against Google, alleging discriminatory hiring practices, and in proving the case they can use Google's own words and actions against them.
Google needs to be forced immediately to fire half it's staff that are male, and it needs to be forced immediately to replace all of those men with women.
This will not only seriously damage Googles effectiveness, but it will piss-off a lot of males who will recognize these actions as a threat to them and their livelihood.
Make Google live up to it's own rules, and make it hurt them as much as we possibly can. Google needs to be utterly destroyed.
They don't care about being hypocrites. They care about not having power.
IF Google ever has to surrender its H-xx visa holder employees,, the company would collapse.
