I preferred Cruz to Trump, my issue was his eligibility. After the lesson of Obama, we need to make absolutely sure that every candidate for the presidency is constitutionally eligible; Cruz was not. Senator Cruz is one of the good guys.
Why the Clinton America sees isnt the Clinton colleagues know
Vox.
Better known as lie regurgitation.
I liked Cruz SOOO much originally. These days, I just wish he’d be more steady in his support for Trump. You’re aware, I’d imagine, that Cruz called on the Justice Dept to immediately investigate Charlottesville as domestic terrorism. The groups he named were Nazis, KKK, and white supremists.
Not a peep about BLM or Antifa. Of course this happened exactly when Trump was taking the most heat for criticizing both sides. He could have used some support but Cruz sided with the MSM, Democrats and the worst GOPe swamp creatures.
That’s the kind of thing that bothers me most about Cruz. Just when Trump is being most harshly and unfairly attacked, Cruz sides with the attackers.
Ezra Klein, a charter member of Journolist: Ezra Klein - Washington Post, Newsweek, The American Prospect
“Did you know that Millard Fillmore (who was never elected president) ran against Lincoln in 1860?”
Fillmore ran on the American Party ticket in 1856. The Republican nominee that year was John C. Fremont. Democrat James Buchanan won.
Fillmore retired from politics after that.
He is consistent in the crap he makes up.
People post from Vox, WaPo, Axios, Politico, etc.
Revolting propaganda either 100% lies, or so twisted that it’s all toxic crap.
Ezra Klein wants to dispirit all of us. In the end, I believe Trump is choosing to alter his public and political approach to Trumpism in order to force more R pols to get on board the train.
Ezra was too clueless to realize that 1) Democrats gave her a free shot at the nomination and no talent or skill was needed to win the super-delegate votes that controlled the party, and 2) people who get paid by a candidate are naturally going to think that the candidate is wonderful and marvelous.
I don’t want these R pols on the Trump train I want the train to squash them like the cockroaches they are!!! The talk now is amnesty for dreamers in return for the wall this is such BS, BUILD THE DAMNED WALL Reagan already got screwed NO BACKROOM DEALS!!!
Please consider that R pols on the train can still be challenged by us voters, but can also help move forward in the meantime.
Right. I stand corrected. There was a fourth candidate in 1860, however, in addition to Lincoln, Vice President Breckenridge, and Senator Douglas: John Bell of the Constitutional union Party.
Fillmore’s American Party was a remnant of the Whigs, and I think Bell’s party was also a Whig remnant.
Trump believes it in but has surrounded himself with people who don’t. That is the problem. The guy who did just got shown the door.
Bell’s Constitutional Union Party was a Whig remnant with the main goal of preserving the Union. In addition to former Southern Whigs it attracted Southern Democrats who opposed secession.
Democrats split along Northern and Southern lines with two candidates running, Douglas and Breckinridge.
And then there was the Republican Party.
When Millard Fillmore ran on the American Party ticket in the previous election in 1856 he did it because he predicted that if the Republican Party with their open hostility to the South won the Presidency that it would bring civil war. A prophet for sure.
