2018 Will Be A Bloodbath – For Democrats
The Daily Caller ^ | 08/22/2017 | David Benkof

Posted on 08/23/2017 12:46:32 AM PDT by Az Joe

As President Trump’s troubles mount, the long-standing expectation that Democrats will gain several House and Senate seats in 2018 has only intensified. At this point, many observers are expecting a bloodbath – and they’re right. But for structural, historical, and intangible reasons, expect the bloodbath to be for Democrats as the GOP further expands its dominance in both houses of Congress.

I see five reasons Democrats on Capitol Hill should stock up on life preservers.

5 logical points all well made and irrefutable. We are in the drivers seat, lets make sure we act like it.

The Republicans are miserable, corrupt and incompetent, but the Democrats (”white terrorists are the number one threat to America”—Kamala Harris) have gone bats..t insane.

The pain here isn’t so much at Senate and House level....it’s at the governor and state-level that the Democrats need to worry about. Census episode will occur in 2020, and these will be the folks drawing the redistribution of house seats. At least four states are figured to lose one seat, and at least four states are figured to gain. All four of the gain (likely) will end up being GOP-gained districts.

The Democrats are a party with a 15% base.

They dominate the 99 most populous counties. But maximizing urban turnout can’t help them win a state.

They got Soviet-style margins out of Philadelphia, Detroit, Milwaukee and Miami.

Even with that advantage, they still lost.

The other reason of course is their farm bench got decimated in the last several election cycles.

They can’t attract and recruit talent because no one wants to serve decades in the minority.

Ambitious people will run as Republicans.

They’re simply screwed.

Yes, they have sorted and concentrated themselves into the coastal enclaves, Chicago and the far NE. Trump may win with a popular vote minority again quite easily in 2020.

This is obvious in Alabama. There’s just no one with talent or skills running for any of the major offices within the state. It’s different with mayors...probably half the mayor positions within the state are Democrat, but they never seem to get any traction to go beyond that.

And should also be a bloodbath for the RINOs.

Yup. The urban cores are old and every one who can move out of them is doing it.

The shift to the suburbs and small towns is only going to erode the Democratic base.

If they don’t find a way to expand it, they will remain a minority party.

I dunno, I moved from Philly 15 years ago. I think they will turn out 200% of the registered voters next time.
We need to true the vote.

Not a reason to spike the football. Republicans must deliver and improve the country to stay dominant.

We can DO something to remedy the Republican Party; we can primary the RINOs. We have the power to turn over the members and change the fabric of Congress. We have some good guys in both houses and they will assume the leadership.

It’s imperative we give President Trump a Congress that will work with him in 2018 by funding conservative primary challengers to the worst lawmakers, and starving the RNC by not sending them donations. The RNC will only fund the establishment RINOs with your money.

Then we're doomed.
