Folks really need to take a deep breath. Undoing the mess of the last 8 years (or more) isn’t happening overnight. There is a lot of deep state and Obama hold over riff-raff to clear out and changes like these don’t come without legal issues that need to be resolved before actions that affect peoples lives take place.
The article says that a review process for how to handle those that are already there is in process. Let the people who have been charged with executing this figure out the best way to do so.

Mattis will now do a serious and exhaustive study of the ability of transgenders to deploy at peak combat efficiency and to maintain that peak efficiency when supply lines for hormone treatments are cut.
He will then rule accordingly.

If they are incapable of deploying for any reason, they are given a honorable discharge, a pat on the back, and are given the respect they deserve as veterans.
That goes for single mothers in the military also. If you are pregnant, you are non-deployable. Honorable discharge, pat on the back, and respect for being a veteran.
In the military you are either a warfighter, or a burden.
I saw this first hand as a person that served 20+ years in the Army, Army National Guard, and Air National Guard.
For too long the military has been another level of welfare for certain people. (single mothers) The military exists for one reason only. If you can’t deploy with your unit, you are useless to the military. BTW, this applies to you National Guard technicians that have never deployed ever but take up all the senior ranks in a unit. yes ORANG I’m talking about you.

Funny, implementing it happened with an executive order stroke of the pen. I see no commitment to bold action. And I see the generals like Mattis doing everything they can to slow things down.
I remember the old days when a General would be utterly ashamed at having homos there in his force and would have acted swiftly at the first hint he could discharge them all COG. Trannies would have been mentally ill utterly depraved unthinkable.
