McConnell and his collaborators build that Senatorial war chest of millions to entrench incumbents and name their replacements. I recall Cruz gave $200,000 to it when doing his penance to McConnell. Cruz served as Vice Chair, or Chair during the Mississippi Treatment, giving up McDaniels for Thad Cochran, an old RINO mule.
McDaniel was the Tea Party candidate you recall, I know that and he was winning that nomination race, until Haley Barbour and Son brought in the blacks together with the multi $$$ cash.
By the grace of God, we have won Trump and a few others, in spite of the corruption and “rigged system”.
Republicans, when they can (and they have the ability in Alabama) to end “open primaries”.
Primaries are for the party members, not any voters that are not party members. They are for the voting members of a party to choose THEIR candidate. They are not for the general public, regardless of party affiliation to choose a candidate. THEY - the voters not registered to a party, have their opportunity to vote in the general election for whichever candidates the parties have nominated to represent THEM.
Open parties are ripe for mischief of one party skewing a primary result AWAY FROM whom the majority of a party actually want. Open primaries should be done away with, every where.
