In Ending DACA, Trump Displays His Political Acumen
The Revolutionary Act ^ | 9/6/17

Posted on 09/09/2017 8:50:15 AM PDT by Liberty7732

By Julio Gonzalez, M.D., J.D.

U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions has announced that President Trump would be rescinding an unconstitutional Presidential Order granting amnesty to children of undocumented immigrants who are still living in the United States; the so called Deferred Action for Children Arrivals, or DACA.

My reaction, as an Hispanic?

Good riddance!

Of course, I’m ecstatic that the President of the United States, with a swipe of his pen, undid what a former President did in a like manner, offensive to the Constitution of the United States. In the words of Attorney General Sessions, by this action the President has restored “constitutional order” to a process that was supposed to involve all people living in the United States, not just President Obama and his cronies.

But there’s a catch.

The President’s order has a six-month delay provision so that nothing can happen for half a year. This delay represents an absolutely brilliant move on President Trump’s part who, by all accounts, favors some continuation of DACA. Now, the President has effectively placed the burden of solving this colossal Obama-created societal problem squarely on Congress — where it belongs. Additionally, his action has struck a massive cord of outrage throughout America with one predominant theme: “Congress has got to do something!”

Americans are right.

Julio Gonzalez for State Representative Congress (and only Congress) must do something on this if anything is to be done, which is exactly what the Framers intended — not the president acting imperially.

One of the great weaknesses of our legislative process is the legislature’s inability to address problems that are not considered to be in crisis. This is why Congress never addressed a solution to health care until the Democrats took advantage of their numerical superiority and rammed their solution down America’s throat. It is also why Congress failed to repeal Obamacare and why they are now at the precipice of not passing a comprehensive reform package for our nation’s taxation system.

Well, now, President Trump has just unleashed a massive humanitarian, political crisis equipped with a time certain. Congress knows the magnitude of the problem. It know the raw humanity of it, and it knows the consequences of not acting. Yes, it is time for Congress to act, and woe to all incumbents obstruct the passage of a solution.

Dr. Julio Gonzalez is an orthopaedic surgeon and lawyer living in Venice, Florida. He is the author of The Federalist Pages and serves in the Florida House of Representatives. He can be reached through www.thefederalistpages.com.

congress is a joke. It is replete with flaccid quislings and losers who only are in it for themselves and their families. They (and their families) become very rich being public “servants”. Most should be in prison or exiled. What pathetic jokers.

There’s an obvious compromise awaiting thoughtful people on both sides of the illegal immigration situation. Citizenship for DACA folks in exchange for e-chip verification, the wall, heavy fines on employers who break the law, no chain migration, etc etc etc. I would add, the border security stuff would need to prove effective before the DACA folks gtt their reprieve. I’ll take that deal right now.

I know this isn’t popular with some of you folks out there, but this is the way out and through this mess. I am counting on Trump to pull this off. If he just legalizes DACA folks and we get nothing more, I’m through supporting him. Basically, his stance on illegal immigration is the only reason I support him. You gotta admit, he’s a pretty unusable president, but I’ll forgive all of his idiosyncrasies if he gets that done for this nation. If he doesn’t, he’s just another blow-hard in my book.

Honest Americans who do not support President Trump do not realize that he is what's preventing the destruction of America.

If President Trump succeeds in saving America from destruction, he will have been the greatest hero in American history.

He probably realizes this, though his objective is not personal glory; it is the salvation of the U.S.A.

No citizenship for Dreamers. Current numbers in DACA is frozen. We extend DACA for 5 years for those already in it, during which they can go back to their countries and get in line like everyone else but will get processed on an expedited basis. No new DACA enrolees.

Full funding for wall NOW plus passing of RAISE Act.

DACA compromise should include -

Border wall

DACA is terminated and resolution is one time and restricted to currently enrolled DACA

E verify

End to Birth Right Citizenship

End to extended family chain immigration

Ineligibility for welfare or government assistance for 10 years

Serious and extensive background check to verify Dreamer status, employment, high school graduation, no criminal affiliation or arrests (this will eliminate over half current DACA enrolled)

Above background check and investigation funded by 5000 dollar fee to each DACA enrolled

End to bogus and abused ‘refugee and humanitarian’ immigration laws

Path to citizenship for Dreamers who meet very rigorous standard and serve 8 years in US military)

Must already have applied to DACA and DACA program closed to new enrolled as of Sept 9 2017

Increase in merit based legal immigration to recruit the worlds best and brightest to America

What we need is a confiscatory property tax on corporations and persons who own legislators.

I'll still vote for him because the alternative is the likes of Mrs. Bill Clinton, but he won't win a 2nd term without the wall.

I wish they would quit saying Trump ended DACA. He wants congress to make this amnesty permanent law. Trumps base needs to know and understand he has moved against them on this issue.

It is definitely pathological.

The hatred is paranoid, phobic, and delusional.

The anti-Trump hatred is truly a mass psychosis, and it is extremely dangerous--just like a dangerous psychotic only on a mass scale.

'James Woods said it best on Twitter (@realjameswoods) recently: "I've never witnessed such hatred for a man, who is willing to work for free to make his beloved country a better place. It is pathological!"'

The hatred is the fury that truth engenders when it confronts delusion. The delusional will commit any act--including murder--to protect their delusional paradigm, which is their concept of reality. We see this every day, the fury of the delusional when truth threatens the delusion.

Consider the calls for President Trump's assassination.

Consider the calls for the death of anyone who threatens delusions with truth.

This is why President Trump's support has remained so constant and so dedicated: He is a true American hero, a valiant leader, and one of the greatest men in history, and, most dangerous of all, he is TRUTHFUL.

What he has undertaken is utterly heroic.

If he is triumphant, he will be acclaimed as one of the greatest heroes and one of the greatest leaders in world history.

I think we all agree that we now have our greatest leverage with this political fight and we expect results from Trump.

Trump should stand up and scream, “I want to make the DACA group happy because I love them. I love all people.....but congress won’t give me e-chip verification, the wall, heavy fines on employers. They are awful awful people... I’m serious. This is his leverage in the illegal immigration argument. It’s now or never on this issue.

Speeches like this are right in Trumps wheel house. He better give them.

Agree - in order to get amnesty w/o the rest would take a veto override and if that happens the Repubs are finished.
