Lerner cleared of tea party targeting charges

The Trump Justice Department has once again cleared former IRS senior executive Lois G. Lerner of criminal liability stemming from the tea party targeting.

In a letter to top Republicans, Assistant Attorney General Stephen E. Boyd said they re-reviewed the case and concluded there isn’t enough evidence to charge Ms. Lerner, who was at the center of the targeting. Mr. Boyd said the new review included lawyers who only recently joined the department and weren’t part of the Obama administration’s earlier decision.

“After this process, the Department determined that reopening the investigation would not be appropriate based on the available evidence,” Mr. Boyd said.

He said if new information comes to light, the decision could be revisited.

Republicans on Capitol Hill called the decision “terrible.”

Which is worse, the flagrant violation of law and the willful suborning of the Constitution for naked political gain, or those with the means who turn their eye from justice and let her skate?

I say, the latter.

A date is looming in the future where ropes and lampposts will make up for the supposed lack of evidence.

I agree he should have asked for resignations on January 20. Bannon said he committed an error in trying to ‘unify’ divided factions. That was surely a mistake.

The political firestorm would be Mueller claiming ‘Obstruction of Justice’ if Trump fires Koskinen because Mueller wants to dig into the President’s tax returns.

Regardless, if Trump fires Koskinen now, it would give the dems an issue for the mid-terms. Their base will lap up anything thrown at them.

The chatter is that Koskinen is guilty of misdeeds. Apparently, this information came to the President who needed a witness, That witness was Lerner. In return for dropping charges against Lerner, recorded testimony was obtained from her implicating Koskinen.

Lerner is hated. She is someone that deserves prison time. But she is gone, she’s not in a position to cause the President any trouble, but Koskinen is there and he can cause trouble.

You guys are all like ‘Pickett’s Last Charge’ thinking with your emotions and not your brains.

The real enemies behind Lerner are Mueller and Koskinen. Let Lerner slide and take out Koskinen. Mueller will fold in due time or be dismissed.

For her to get off, there had to be a RINO like McCain pulling strings in the background. He never was a fan of The Tea Party. I can’t think of any other reason for not prosecuting. The government can’t let too many dirty secrets be discovered.

Yep, can’t stand to think of it. Kind of like OJ, got away with murder.

But Koskinen is a big Swamp snake and he’s aligned with an even bigger snake, Mueller.

Have to think tactically, unfortunately, that sometimes means going around targets of opportunity.

One thing I do know is that when the federal government is out to get someone, they will find a way. If Lerner so much as looks cross-eyed at a federal officer, she can pay the price. But that’s dem type of thinking, embedded in revenge and reprisals.

A better way to get justice against Lerner might be at the state levels. Perhaps she can be sued on a personal basis.

Depending on who you are and who you know... skating is free for those who qualify....

Seems there is so much to undo/handle/fix that Trump can’t do it all at once... throw it all up before he can get to it... and his state dept is woefully liberal.. so are some more of his departments... the swamp has not been drained.

"We can’t investigate because there isn’t enough evidence."

Yet the obviously bogus and trumped-up Trump-Russia Collusion was investigated and investigated and investigated even though it was OBVIOUSLY nothing more than a Democrat fishing expedition hoping to find something--ANYTHING!--that might invalidate the 2016 Presidential Election!

The corruption plaguing America--and virtually all American institutions, from the most venerable to the most frivolous, from the FBI, the IRS, the press, the universities, the grammar schools, the court system to the Miss America Contest and Hollywood--is breathtaking, sickening, and ubiquitous. It holds truth in contempt. It scorns God and all that is decent and honest.

Are there no honest people left in these institutions?

Are there no honest people left in the Leftist conclaves of America?

Nothing like giving the green light to more abusive corruption from government bureaucrats. Nice work, Jeff Sessions.

Are we sure that this practice is no longer happening? If they can get away with it, why would they stop doing it?
