President Donald Trump discusses the short-term (relief) and long-term (recovery) efforts for Puerto Rico. As everyone is aware, even before the storm the island territory was under financial collapse as a result of Democrat mismanagement and generational political agendas creating a culture of dependency.
Hurricane Maria has exacerbated Puerto Ricos problems and is showcasing a governmental structure incapable of governing during crisis. The media hypes the suffering, yet omits the Islands inept systems of governance and the culture of dependency. The only way the U.S. federal government can assist effectively is by taking over almost every aspect of state and local government.

President Trump Discusses Puerto Rico Relief and Recovery: Some Very Serious Decisions Need To Be Made
Lets give Puerto Rico to Hollywood and NFL kneelers. Have them show us how they can build a utopia.
Excellent post!
Wonder if they miss Roosevelt Roads Naval Air Station? Very little sympathy here. They bit the hand that feeds them. Kind of like a union town striking and closing down the factory. Boo hoo.
Get PR on its feet being productive would be a good goal.
I personally think that they should take the Clintons and make her President of P.R. and remove P.R. from the United States, turn it over to the U.N. and then all the football teams, libs, hollyweeds and talk show hosts along with the media should immediately move there...
Funny how there are no charter flights from LA to San Juan full of actors and liberal talk show hosts for an aid effort.
Maybe they will all get together in an air conditioned recording studio and record “we Are San Juan” and then have a catered lunch, and pat each other on the back for doing good.
The hildebeast should be sent to Haiti with no protection.
Turn it back into a literal Rich Port, this time with no people.
OR..........move the UN there.
The US feral government’s minimum wage law had a lot to do with it.

What would we like for Puerto Rico to become?
Have their economy become even more a total basket case where Puerto Ricans move to the US like liberals in the news wish so they turn Florida or other states Dem controlled?
Or they fix their internal problems becoming economically and independently vibrant? The later is the better choice.
Right - PR had a gold mine with Roosevelt Roads Navy Base. Add Ft. Buchanan and Ft. Allen over in Ponce. Also the Marine Corp on the east end of Vieques and the western third of Vieques had the ammo storage bunkers. Lots of US dollars in the PR economy. The US was pressured to turn it all over to PR for “development.” They let a small band of communist independistas, coupled with years of inept Democrats run state government leading to what we see now as a complete breakdown.
I do believe the Puerto Ricans are very capable of running things if they would come to realize the lefties are losers
“They let a small band of communist independistas, coupled with years of inept Democrats run state government leading to what we see now as a complete breakdown.”
Of course you know you repeated yourself, right??
It may be that "they" are incapable of fixing their problems. It may be that "those" who govern PR are inept or corrupt or both. They are both!
At this point and with the island's devastating condition, Marshall Law should be enacted, if it's not already, and all governance at every level should be in the hands of the U.S. military, similar to how we governed Japan after WWII. Unfortunately, we are still trying to coordinate with the PR governor, which is politically correct but a mistake. Marshall Law with no PR politician involvement allowed - is the ticket at this time.
I heard 16,000 miles of electric wire has to be strung. That’s after they get the poles and transformers. No telling how many electric meters. There was some celeb ninny the other day who just couldn’t understand why a ‘generator ship’ couldn’t just drive up and plug in.
Geraldo was doing a live shot from the PR. Cars driving around him like a normal day. Maybe gas isn’t in as short a supply as we thought, so there should be plenty for generators.
Quote of the week !
IOW, turn Puerto Rico from a territory into a colony with military occupation. That won't happen because of the "racist" optics, but it is essentially the only solution--it worked for Japan in the late 1940s, though it took the "stimulus" of the Korean War to put the Japanese economy and infrastructure on track.
