Within hours of the horrible attack in Las Vegas, before we knew most of the relevant facts about the tragedy, gun control advocates were calling for more gun control. Here is something I would like those advocates to consider: Europe, which has all the gun controls that are being pushed in the aftermath of the Las Vegas carnage, has actually suffered more bloodshed from these types of attacks than the U.S.
You heard that right: Countries such as France may have made all semi-automatic guns illegal, but that hasn’t stopped killers from getting fully automatic machine guns to use in mass shooting attacks. All four of the 2015 mass public shooting in France involved machine guns, including the 130 people killed in November of that year in multiple attacks including one at a concert venue.
In the 1970s, 80s and 90s, Europe saw machine gun attacks in airports and nightclubs by groups such as Black September and the Red Army Faction. In fact, machine guns are commonly used in mass shootings in the rest of the world.
This has not been the case here in the U.S. In fact, Sunday’s attack on a country music festival in Las Vegas – that left at least 58 people dead and more than 500 wounded – may be the first mass public shooting in the U.S. involving a machine gun, if it turns out the killer did use such a weapon. According to a Wall Street Journal report, the gunman, 64-year-old Stephen Paddock, is believed to have used at least one fully automatic weapon – weapons that are heavily restricted under U.S. federal law.
It is an attack that is likely to rank 14th in the most deadly mass public shooting in the world since 1970. . . .

Why you may ask?
Q1: would the NV mass murderer Paddock would have surrendered all his 35 guns if a gun control law was passed before Oct 1, 2017 ?
Q2: would gang bangers in Chicago, LA, Baltimore and many other big cities and all other criminals surrender all their guns they possess, if a new law outlawing all guns was passed?
The answers obviously are NOPE, Nein, Nada, Nyet, Nahi, unless your IQ is south of your age (which includes liberals).
So who would surrender their guns? Yap, only the law abiding citizens, who by definition do not commit any random gun crimes.
Another fact to never forget is that US civilians possess more firearms than the other 7500 Million people in the world combined. Except for Switzerland, no other significant country in the world, that I know of, which allows civilians to purchase firearms.
Is it any wonder Switzerland was the only non-axis country in Europe Hitler did not invade!
So what would gun confiscation laws would accomplish? The criminal minds will keep their guns and law abiding would give up theirs.
It is way too late to enact any strict gun control laws. Pray it never happens.
This is simply about control by liberals. Literally. It’s more power that they want over the individual American. The only liberal solution is complete confiscation. The problem is that they would soon run out of gun confiscators.
I heard in a chat room from a former UK police officer that a big possible reason that gun control “works” in Europe is not because of the actual policies, but because the firearm industry barely exists at all in Europe. There’s few firearm manufacturers and even fewer gun stores. He said that in all his time as a policeman, he hadn’t once seen a gun store.
Why have a store to sell a product that’s not available for sale?
Gun control will never work in America because it would cause a Civil War that would make the first one look tame.
And we would win.
Screw Europe. Let them enjoy their Muslims and their utter helplessness that they now seem to rejoice in.
Meanwhile, we ignorant bigoted Islamophobe Yanks will enjoy both possessing our guns and the right to self defense, each enshrined in our laws and in the Constitution.

I think antique guns are still legal in Europe, and in some countries you have to go through a ton of legal hoops. But his point was that criminals have much harder time getting guns if there aren’t any in circulation (despite the fact that there are still gun deaths in Europe, however uncommon).

I don’t know about that. Many parts of the country already have very strict gun control, such as Chicago, and entire state of CA. I am nervous every time driving through CA with my gun in the car. If a cop stops me for a “traffic violation” he/she can get me in big trouble if a gun is present in the car.
Just ask the City of Chicago about Gun Control.
Avoid asking on any Weekend day.
The only reason they want gun control is so they can easily take out the people that don’t agree with them.

France’s gun control laws certainly did not stop the massacre at the Bataclan theater . Their gun control laws practically insured the terrorist would have not have to worry about anyone shooting back at them . They had nothing to worry about and it gave them plenty of time to castrate people and shove the parts they cut off in their mouths , they decapitated people , disemboweled people , cut peoples eyes out and raped others . The terrorist had nothing to worry about and those gun control law did not save one person in that theater that day .

Some third world hellholes have made gun ownership illegal, and it hasn't worked at all, it's ignored. And heavily armed civil societies, those with paranoid dictators at the top -- e.g. Khaddafy in Libya -- who want the population armed to repulse imaginary foreign threats wind up, well, you get the idea. Now just a cotton pickin’ minit here. Let’s be fair. Europeans have their share of mass killings, sure. But they mostly use cars, trucks and suicide bombs, not g-g-g-g-GUUUUUNS!
But what does gun control look like? What do the democrats ask for, what are the 2A supporters willing to accept?
Widespread confiscation will not happen. Too many cops and their families own guns and will not go along with it. (Its self preservation as well).
The military? I don’t know, it would take a bunch of propaganda and the military can’t just expect you not to see what is going on in the world like it used to before the advent of social media.
I think semiauto rifles that “look” militaristic will get banned again, along with mags and all the “assault” accoutrement. We have been here before and like I said in another thread, shame on you (not you specifically UM, just others generally) if you haven’t got your rifle and ammo before this.
You were warned, years ago, that an event like this would happen and the libs would drop the hammer.
