Saturday Night Live creator Lorne Michaels has seemingly admitted the show chose not to roast Harvey Weinstein because the embattled film heavyweight is from New York.

When Michaels was asked as he was leaving SNL's after-party at 4am why the show avoided the Weinstein controversy, the producer smiled and responded: 'It's a New York thing.'

The show had earlier been criticized for not mentioning the sexual harassment allegations leveled against Weinstein this week.

EXCLUSIVE: It's a New York thing! SNL creator Lorne Michaels reveals the show gave Harvey Weinstein a pass because the shamed movie mogul is from his city - despite trying out a joke at his expense that got a 'big reaction' in dress rehearsal

The SNL guy is lying.

The real reason is that that mocking a BIG donor would have been a breach of the Democrat Media “code.”

Same Democrat Media “code” that requires SNL to slobber up Hillary’s leg while slamming The Donald.

President Trump is from New York. They don’t treat him like a “New York thing”.

It’s not because he is from New York. Trump is from New York. Michaels is from Canada.

SNL had chance to take on Hillary when she published a book titled What Happened. Think of all the punchlines that emanated from that title. They took a pass then too and just kept doing the same old,Trump ridicule they do every week.

Last night the first half of the “news” on SNL was aa screed about gun control. Illogical and no mention that where gun control is in place a lot of people get shot, e.g. Chicago. No mention of all the current laws not stopping anybody.

Give enough money to big-name Democrats, and you can have your own private island stocked with sexually available teenagers.

As long as you cut the politicians in on the fun, you don’t have to worry about a thing.

Every Sunday morning when the show ends at 11 the cast and crew have a party. It’s called a wrap party in the movies. Is that now problem.

the show gave Harvey Weinstein a pass

Maybe they could do a really funny skit, with Weinstein raping starlets and pleasuring himself in the hallway.

Ha ha ha. Oh, that would be so funny.

I believe there was possibly an edict from the lawyers at Comcast corporate headquarters (the parent of NBC Universal) that Saturday Night Live should not deal with the Harvey Weinstein situation.

Why? Because Executive Producer Lorne Michaels, the producers under him, and many of the regular cast have dealt with the Weinstein Company, particularly in the scheduling of potential guest hosts who were actors/actresses involved in movies produced and/or distributed by the Weinstein Company (and Miramax before that). As such, much of the cast and crew of Saturday Night Live could be culpable or be material witnesses in the legal case against Weinstein.
