Trump to nominate climate change doubter as top environmental adviser [More winning alert!]

President Donald Trump will nominate a climate change skeptic with ties to the fossil fuel industry to serve as a top environmental adviser.

The White House on Thursday announced the selection of Kathleen Hartnett White of Texas to serve as chair of the Council on Environmental Quality. White served under former Texas Gov. Rick Perry, now Trump's energy secretary, for six years on a commission overseeing the state environmental agency.

White was fiercely critical of what she called the Obama administration's "imperial EPA" and pushed back against stricter limits on air and water pollution. She is a senior fellow at the Texas Public Policy Foundation, a conservative think tank that has received funding from fossil-fuel companies that include Koch Industries, ExxonMobil and Chevron.

In a 2014 policy paper titled "Fossil Fuels: The Moral Case," White praised the burning of coal and petroleum for "vastly improved living conditions across the world" and credited fossil fuels with ending slavery.

I didn’t think “advisors” were nominated positions.

If the approval has to go through the Senate, expect the Democrats to sit on this nomination ....

>>I didn’t think “advisors” were nominated positions.<<

I think she needs approval b/c it is the chair of a congressional committee.

I think.

It’s not a White House job. It was established by Congress and requires Senate confirmation.

This is wonderful.
Real speaking of Truth to Power!

Absolutely correct about the ending of slavery.

It correlates quite well with the industrial revolution.

Engines took the place of a great many slaves.

All good, except of course no one doubts that climate changes. We just understand that this is a natural process that humans have very little influence on, and no ability to control.

Yes, but will McTurtle slow walk and let the nomination die? McConnell is serving as a major blocking force for the uniparty and, somehow, needs to be motivated or removed.

It will go through Sen. Barrasso’s committee. Once it’s reported out, the Majority Leader has limited options.

How can anyone even remotely cognizant of history deny the truth of the above statements???

She certainly seems a good choice for an environmental adviser. It will be different to have somebody in a position like that with their head screwed on straight;someone who understands & has a common sense view on climate.

The truths coming out about the AGW cult, its falsified data sets and its tax money grubbing are having a positive effect, I think.

I’m optimistic that more of today’s youths are recognizing these kinds of groups as ‘the lying establishment’. The truth is out there.
