Now, they're after Civil War reenactors

Civil War reenactors replaying the Battle of Cedar Creek in Virginia on Saturday went ahead with their demonstration despite the group organizing the event receiving a letter threatening "bodily harm" to anyone who participated.

The battlefield was temporarily cleared on Saturday when a "suspicious device" - possibly a pipe bomb - was discovered. The FBI is investigating.

Washington Post:

“We wanted to send a message,” said Keith MacGregor, 56, from Lebanon, Pa., who was playing the role of a Union infantry captain for the reenactment of the Battle of Cedar Creek, held not far from here. “We wanted to show the U.S. that we aren’t going to let some terrorist, or some nut, stop the event. I was never prouder of people in our hobby.”

Before and after the minute-long “U.S.A.” chant, the two sides who acted out the battle came together and thanked each other for coming — and for staying. “The Star-Spangled Banner” was played and sung. So was “Dixie.

At some point during filming, the revolver was apparently discharged with one of these improperly-deactivated cartridges in the chamber, setting off the primer with enough force to drive the bullet partway into the barrel, where it became stuck (a condition known as a squib load). The prop crew either failed to notice this or failed to recognize the significance of this issue.

I have to wonder where the gun was pointed when this event occurred.

I have a Julian Scott Litho, signed. Its of a wounded drummer/bugler(?) boy. It has some ink color and a rip at the base due to age and fragility. Is it worth anything? Its framed, about 2’x3’. Its been stored in a box for over the past 35 years.

Don’t blame them as children. Blame them as the no-good leftist fleabags that they really are.

They are children inasmuch as they’ve never grown up. Only now they are dangerous.

You are correct-——and race relations have not been this bad in years.

I read the Washington Post account, and the whole time I was thinking that the WP was disappointed that the event wasn’t cancelled. We all know that the WP and others give their full support to the terrorists of Black Lies Matter and Antifa.

Even with blank loads, sometimes a reenactor will accidentally forget leaving his ramrod in the bore. The result is capable of cutting down several saplings.
Or so I heard...

I would be happy with a 10-20 year sentence for the terrorist who issued the threat. I’d also be happy if the police just ended it for him.

This could turn out funny. I'd love to see a bunch of antifa punks try to assault a formation of guys carrying Enfields with civil war bayonets attached to the muzzle...

No, Brandon Lee was killed when a squib got stuck in the prop gun, but he was not playing with it and killed himself. He was shot during the course of filming “The Crow”.

The problem with CW2 is it’s going to be a challenge to produce an entertaining public re-enactment of the “Midnight Sniping of Professor Snowflake Antifa of the Sodomy Studies Department at SJWU”.

During reenactment battles, drawing a ram rod will stop the event in its tracks and get you thrown out of the event.
