Cowboys owner Jerry Jones says anthem protests are damaging the NFL

Dallas owner says he has heard from concerned sponsors

The Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, who this month said he would bench any of his players who “disrespect the flag” during the national anthem, says that the protest movement is damaging the NFL.

This season dozens of NFL players have knelt during the anthem to highlight racial injustice in the United States. The movement has split the nation, with many perceiving it as disrespectful to military veterans. The NFL’s television ratings are also down, although it is not clear whether this is directly linked to the protests, as TV sports audiences have fallen across America.

“There is no question the league is suffering negative effects from these protests,” Jones said on Sunday.

Jones’s Cowboys are valued at around $5bn, and he said he had heard from concerned sponsors. “Our ability to be substantive is based on having a strong NFL, a league that people are really interested in and want to watch and want to watch the games,” Jones said. “At all times, if I am anything, I am first and foremost a proponent of making the NFL strong. Making us have as many people watching the game as we can and watching in light of what we are doing and that’s playing football. If all this makes you stronger to represent messages, let’s don’t do it in a way that tears down the strength of the NFL.”

Players have profit sharing. No profit no share.

They also become toxic for endorsement deals.

Yes, “|he big game” promotions with the commercials and stuff. Once an American thing, it stuck itself to that idiot Kaepernick.

ESPN certainly showed what a liberal cancer they are. Several times.

[And the team owners took sides with them and alienated a huge swath of their audience.]

Exactly. Therein lies the problem. Anything to appease the thugs. Oh I’m sure some of them realize NOW that it was a bad idea.

[Actually what they are really upset about in the black community is that after 8 years of Obama and his black rescue, that they are worse off, and with few options besides broken families, more food stamps, no free smart phone upgrade, worse education, and still can’t smack around their baby mamma’s without getting arrested.]

Don’t use truth and facts. It’s like acid to the liberals at Yahoo. They go ballistic when exposed to it. Very radioactive; they shriek like Hillary.

[Condoleeza Rice was always explaining the NFL commissioner job as being her most wanted job in her lifetime.]

That tells us something some of us knew about her long ago. And apparently the NFL. She’s a “conservative” - that voted for Obama, did she not?

And to my previous comment - other sites seem to have her not saying who she voted for. But she issued this statement:

https://thinkprogress.org/condoleezza-rice-especially-proud-of-obama-victory-2129f883d8f9/

Nov 5, 2008, 6:10 pm

[[[During a press conference this morning, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said John McCain was “gracious” and “a great patriot,” while Barack Obama was “inspirational” and “will continue to be.” A jubilant Rice added that she was proud of her country — “it continues to surprise…it continues to beat all odds and expectations.” She concluded, “On a personal note, as an African-American, I’m especially proud.”]]]

There's video there of her statement - if my video player worked in this browser - it's about 50% and YouTube doesn't play anymore, I could rerun it.

And I ran across this tidbit of Condi Rice praising Obama; praising Obama for selecting Hillary and praising Hillary:

http://blogs.abcnews.com/george/2008/12/rice-on-hillary.html

Outgoing Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice told me on “This Week” that she has spoken to Sen. Hillary Clinton, President-elect Barack Obama’s pick for State.

“She’s terrific,” Rice said, “I have known her for a long time, ever since she brought her freshman daughter to Stanford when I was provost at Sanford. I think she’s going to be terrific.”

Of her possible successor, Rice said, “President-elect Obama has made his choice and he’s made a terrific choice. Hillary Clinton is someone of intelligence and she’ll do a great job. She also has what’s most important to be Secretary of State, and that is that you love this country and you represent it from the basic of faith in it’s values, and I know that she will do that.”

They are hardcore leftists—everyone needs to wake up!

I guess that should more accurately read “And I ran across this tidbit of Condi Rice praising Obama for selecting Hillary and praising Hillary:”

Her praise for Obama was in my previous post about her.

“And I ran across this tidbit of Condi Rice praising Obama for selecting Hillary and praising Hillary:”

Her praise for Obama was in my previous post about her.

And Hussein Obama finally slips into the conversation.

Why would a race baiting community organizer want to incite black patriots to disrespect our county?

And WHY would a race baiting community organizer want to have a Secretary of State that was taking bribes from the Russians?

And WHY would Hussein Obama, America's FIRST President who has STRONG TIES with Islam want to disrupt the US by hiding the fact the FBI was watching Hillary because of her Russian activity?

There is no proof yet that Hussein is using his community organizing background skills to incite racial strife but at this point, it looks like a pretty good bet to me.

Fortunately, I think President Trump sees Hussein Obama as the ultimate prize. Hillary is just cannon fodder as are all of the NFL players and owners.

I’d say we’re beyond that point.

Hussein is subtle, part of the time. He sells some sleazy snake oil.

You wouldn’t have to make it all white.

There are good people of “every” color out there.

There would be strict rules, if you violate them, you’re fired.

“You wouldn’t have to make it all white.”

No, you’re quite right, but based on the “caliber” of the Black players today, I’d say you’d have a slim chance of getting many who were patriotic enough to abide by the new rules. Personally, I’ve never owned any slaves, and the Black guys I know have never been slaves. That being the case, this recurring bull$hit about “reparations for slavery” and the notion that somehow Blacks, as an ethnic group, are “owed” anything beyond what everyone else gets being born here is simply nonsense.
