"Women will not be equal until they register for the draft too."

After they are drafted, they'll quickly be used, each, by hundreds of young men, and be physically damaged, barren and impoverished for the remainders of their short lives. They will die childless, diseased and rotting. That's how far they'll go to get out of the service and get back home.

By any rational standard, given the realities on the ground today, women most certainly should be required to register for selective service. No feminist could possibly object, and no fellow traveler should either. Sauce for the goose and all that.

My granddaughter isn’t a feminist. Why do you want her to be forced into the draft system? Do you know you’re parroting the feminist manifesto from Gloria Steinem and her radical cohorts? They’ve been pushing for drafting women since the 1970s. This is not a conservative position, it’s a plank of radical feminism

My aunt (by marriage) was a Marine during WWII.I didn't know it until after she died. She was a clerk typist...obviously freeing up a man for combat.

Watch out neocon- controlled Republican Party push this through. They tried to do it quietly a couple years ago. They’ll try again. They need more cannon fodder. But not their daughters of course

If Democrats want to continue pretending that there is no difference between a boy and a girl, then women should be required to sign up from the draft, same as men.

Fine, but she did so voluntarily. I don’t want my granddaughter drafted for another one of our insane unnecessary wars.

So you want my conservative granddaughter drafted because liberals say there’s no difference between the sexes? Sounds like you’re siding with the feminists

Okay, Trump needs to fire whomever came up with that nonsense.

As someone who was actually drafted, I am against it, but it does have a certain karmic appeal

Agree with you and hastily posted a sarcastic comment without the sarcasm tag. Historic gender roles developed for a reason and western civilization has done its level best to upset the apple cart for nearly 50 years now.

About time. If women can be president and in all aspects of society are to be treated as equals, then they must also be subject to the draft.

As a mother of two sons, a grandmother to 3 girls and 4 boys, I feel that there is some merit to requiring both sexes to serve in the military.

Now for some family history. My grandfather was in WWI. My uncle was in WWII. My husband served during the Vietnam conflict, but stayed stateside. He then went on to serve for 30 + years in the Reserves and ANG. My son is an active reservist, who has been in for the last 7 years full time, but has been in for a total of 10+ years.

I have repeatedly said that the worse thing they did to this country is to stop the draft, because being in the military, made a lot of our young men grow up. Those that are in the generation that was not drafted became indoctrinated by the liberal professors in the world of academia instead experiencing the conservative reality based world of the military.

Now having said all that, I am sure that many are saying, What makes her an expert on what the military is and what it stands for?” Good question.

Not only has my husband and son served, I served in the U.S. Air Force Reserves for 6 years. The only reason that I got out was, due to the fact that we wanted to start a family, and I did not want to abandon my children with both of us potentially being pulled to active duty in the event of a 9-11 situation. And yes for the record that would have our exact scenario if I had stayed in.

I have encouraged many young people to join our military, both males and females. It would sure help turn this country around, if these young people would learn a skill and apply that knowledge to work, able to handle leadership, and have experiences that accomplish something that bigger than themselves. The military does not give participation trophies. Perhaps they can separate them from the cell phones for a few weeks during Basic training. And just perhaps the millennial generation’s kids would learn that the world does not revolve around them.

As a result of the confidence that I acquired because of my military experiences I am able to do many things that many men can’t or will not do. It was one of the best things I ever did in my life. I still carry with me many of the life lessons that I learned while serving. The ethics, skills and attitude that instilled in me, have been appreciated by my employers and co-workers.

A great example of men and women serving side by side in the military is the little country of Israel. They are obligated to serve for one year. Their very survival depends on it. I think that our does as well.

Most would just get pregnant before deployment. That is what I saw on the ENTERPRISE.
