I know, I was being cryptic. It was because I couldn’t remember the details.
The Pentagon has been using a SPLC guide to extremism that instead of detailing the threat of Islamic terror and infiltration, instead talks about the Neo-Nazi like threat of Islamaphobia and anti-Muslim activists (who speak out against the Jihadi threat). The Pentagon ceased to use those training materials October 2.

Just about any woman can serve in the military in some capacity such as clerical or supply.

This frees up men to do the fighting or jobs women cannot do because they lack the strength.

This is long past due. Women want equality and they should have it.

No arguing with a zealot. If you come for me and mine to drag my 18 year old daughter off you better make right with your God.

The draft is the stupidest idea yet for America. In Israel all serve it’s expected, the system is built. To try it in a country so many times larger and to superimpose it on a culture that is not as homogeneous and not at war is a fool’s errand. I’m sorry you hate feminists but don’t let your resentments overcome your good sense.

Under the draft system, draftees usually served for two years. Now, Soldiers enlist to serve for up to five years.

Only 20 percent of Americans are qualified to be in the Army under standards of health, behavior, and intelligence. Seamands said recruiting still remains a challenge.

“We are very selective because we know what’s at stake,” Seamands said. “What’s at stake is having a professional force that’s capable of fighting and winning our nation’s battles.”

Following and during the Vietnam War, public trust in the Army was at an all-time low, Seamands said. Significant amounts of draftees didn’t want to serve and faced hostile environments when they returned home.

Seamands said the transition to the all-volunteer force changed the national dialogue about the Army when it was implemented.

“Americans have a lot to be proud of and one of them is the all-volunteer force,” Seamands said. “It’s unprecedented. And now, the American people realize the national treasure we have in our sons and daughters serving in uniform.”

Stupid idea. We will never need to draft women.

Any woman who claims a right to kill a baby between conception and birth is unworthy of being exempted from the draft.

Perhaps you think I’m picking on women. You couldn’t be more wrong. I should have explained myself a little better. I am in favor of national service for everyone when they attain age of 18. Everyone, & I mean everyone should serve in some capacity to give back to this country a small part of what was given to them.

There should be zero deferments for college and only in the most extreme cases should a physical deferment be granted.

A civilization that ceases to protect its child bearing members is committing suicide.

I don’t want to see women drafted for the sake of the unification of genders that the left often proposes; however, I think it would good for some young women who are often brainwashed through pop culture and education camps — two liberal icons — that there is more to life than abortions and equal pay. Maybe this can help the right convince more young females to our side of the political aisle. I think womens’ groups will ultimately back off any mention of females registering and that will show their hypocrisy on this matter. We know the left has emasculated and feminized many young men. Requiring registration for selective service in order to get college loans is different than the actual draft. However, it may be a necessary step to show “Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country.”

So you want my conservative granddaughter drafted because liberals say there’s no difference between the sexes?

What I really want is for liberals to admit the truth that boys and girls are different.

Thank you for your explanation but we are going to have to disagree on that one. I am quite vehemently against national service requirements. I come to it from a different perspective than you do. While you see the benefits I see the negatives. First of all I resent the idea that we own two years of a persons life and can take them away from pursuing their dreams, interrupt their career path disrupt relationships because “we” think its a good idea.

I went from high school, to college, to medical school to residency training, finishing at age 31 after a year fellowship. A year of service would have atrophied my study skills and might have tilted the scales in terms of whether I would have been sidetracked. You can argue that it would have given me something but I say every path taken is a path not taken and there is no excuse in an America founded in Freedom for someone else to choose my path and control my destiny.

I applaud the people who join the military to serve; I served another way. We all got to decide. The whole idea of mandatory service is a joke. You would have an uncontrollable, resentful group of misfits many of whom would come with attitudes. That is not what they armed forces needs or wants. Trying to suggest that because it has been the tradition of other smaller, more cohesive & homogeneous Nations like Israel it would be good here is preposterous. We are not pieces to be moved on a chessboard as the planners think would be in everyone’s interest. We are a free people and we have had a volunteer army since 1971. It should remain that way but we should pay them a proper wage and benefits.

I can only say this.

Freedom is not free. If everyone serves for the same 2 years then no one is disadvantaged because every other studying doctor is going to be subject to the same 2 years and that goes for every other career field or course of study.

I am glad to hear your thoughts. You can’t start a policy like that in midstream because all the older people haven’t served. So much for no one being disadvantaged. The 3-4 year cohort who would be subjected to this before it failed would be significantly disadvantaged. In your search for fairness the fact that the Armed Forces wants a volunteer army seems to have escaped you. Be careful that you do not emulate the left in seeking to impose your ideas of what is “right” on other people.

We started our family after medical school/residency. Fertility drops off starting at age 26 for women and exponentially at age 30. Two years more and I might not have a family of four. Everyone does not have to serve in the armed forces to make America strong nor to keep it free. I will strenuously fight to preserve Freedom for all Americans to pursue their dreams and for the strongest most competent volunteer Armed Services. This is a red line issue for me.

“Soybean oil causes more obesity than coconut oil, fructose”

Scientists found mice on high soybean oil diet showed increased levels of weight gain, diabetes compared to mice on a high fructose diet or high coconut oil diet
Date:July 22, 2015

Source: University of California - Riverside

Summary:
A diet high in soybean oil causes more obesity and diabetes than a diet high in fructose, a sugar commonly found in soda and processed foods, according to a new study. In the U.S. the consumption of soybean oil has increased greatly in the last four decades due to a number of factors, including results from studies in the 1960s that found a positive correlation between saturated fatty acids and the risk of cardiovascular disease.

Try buying a loaf of bread without soybean oil in it! They even add it to beef. Ground beef. It’s protein. It’s in everything nowadays. My two youngest boys are fat. What is so different between their diets and that of my oldest boys? Soy in everything! We have cut a lot of it. But not completely.

A very bad idea. But I guess they’re going for “whatever means possible” to destroy the fabric of the American family — not that much of that remains now, anyhow, thanks to feminism.

Last year there was a woman on the EISENHOWER in the Persian Gulf, who was complaining of a stomach ache, and ended up giving birth.
