He’s up in 2018, if I remember correctly.

He was reelected on 2014 so he isn't up again until 2020. His leadership position is not in danger.

It makes a sort of sense but it also presumes that he "improperly touched" a 14 year old.

I'm one of those who doesn't care for the folks who go for big age differences. A few years ago, I was riding down the beach with a couple other guys in their late '50s and they were ogling all the "young stuff". I told them it didn't seem right for a beat up old codger to be with such a sweet young thing (personal preference, not a dictat) and told Bill to imagine her with Bob and Bob to imagine her with Bill - if that didn't turn them off, there might be something amiss.

I realize that also applies to Trump and his wives but once again, it's just a personal preference...

If people have any degree of common sense and possess even a modicum of an ability to reason, then they’d see these accusations against Judge Roy Moore for what they are: a slimy, political hit piece, strategically placed just ahead of an election, with the purpose of destroying a good man in order to deny his election to the U.S. Senate. Seems crystal clear to me.

Isn’t this a 5-year term because it is a special election?

No. This is to fill the remainder of Sessions' term which ends in January 2021.

His leadership will be in danger in two circumstances. One, if they don’t pass any of Trump’s agenda, and get crushed in a midterm election they should dominate. Two, if they get a tax cut and a few judges but not enough other things. Then, the base gets 5 or 7 new conservatives, takes out a few RINOs and a few Democrats, and has a good number of Trump supporters in the Senate. McConnell is pure swamp, and there will be a fight if he wants to stay. There might be a compromise on someone like Johnson.

McConnell needs 26 votes to remain leader. I can name 26 Senators who will vote for him regardless.
