Paul Ryan Ignoring National Reciprocity for 45th Consecutive Week

It is November 17 and House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) is ignoring national reciprocity legislation for a 45th consecutive week.

National reciprocity would treat concealed carry permits like driver’s licenses, making the license from one state valid in the other 49. Such a reciprocal system would allow law-abiding Americans to keep their handguns on their persons for defense of themselves and their families as they travel throughout the country.

Breitbart News reported that Rep. Richard Hudson (R-NC) introduced national reciprocity legislation on January 3, 2017. His bill “would allow people with a state-issued concealed carry license or permit to conceal a handgun in any other state that allows concealed carry, as long as the permit holder follows the laws of that state.”

Hudson’s bill was greeted with great excitement by gun owners. After all, it came on the heels of an presidential election in which the candidate who was pro-national reciprocity won.

Remember all that trouble they were having in Florida with thugs targeting vacationers in rental cars?

Mr Ryno, need a little help here. When will the timing be "right" for national reciprocity? What determines good timing?

It would be worth replacing Ryan and McConnell with dems, just for the political career execution.

At the end of they day, they care more about themselves than their agendas. Political death would send a chill wind through these quislings.

at an airport in Florida I heard a story about a guy whose luggage was stolen while stacking it outside, it was said, he returned the next day with a suitcase, left it on the curb and walked back in, while watching. again the thugs stole the suitcase and about 30 seconds later wrecked their car and were bit by rattle snakes when they opened it while in the car..

No surprise. They aren’t taking that on before the midterms.

They’ll get around to it eventually. But with the maximum amount of drama and kabuki theater. Oh and lots of concessions to their “friends across the aisle.”

Politics is a scam and we’re suckers for playing.

I guess this isn’t a states’ rights issue.
