This week, families across our state are unboxing their Thanksgiving décor, choosing table cloths, and deciding who is going to be responsible for what dish this coming Thursday. Its that time of the year when we communities come together, put family disputes aside and get in the holiday spirit. Unfortunately, this holiday season comes with a different taste for many as hundreds of Iowa families will eat their Thanksgiving meals with uncertainty, anxiety and fear.
The lives of hundreds of families across our states are at risk thanks to Donald Trumps draconian immigration policies. Many of your immigrant friends and neighbors are already being subjected to intimidation from immigration authorities, while others are facing deportation.
Make no mistake, Donald Trump is doing everything he promised during his campaign. His administrations goal is to deport as many immigrants as possible, and two of their main targets are Temporary Protected Status (TPS) and Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) beneficiaries. This is not a drill nor an exaggeration, this is reality. Donald Trump wants to deport hard working Iowans like myself, which is want I call on my community to take action.
Trump has upended the lives of nearly 3,000 Iowans who have gone to college, started a family and contribute to their local communities by ending the DACA program. Now the future of these Iowans hinges on the actions of Congress, and whether they are able to pass legislation to allow these young people to live free from the fear of deportation.

"Go ahead and have seconds. I'm still full from 2008-2016."
Only a few of the people here might get this really obscure reference, which is quite rude, NSFW, and would make absolutely no sense, unless you were familiar with its context. Which is quite a rabbit hole in itself:
“That’s right, I’m going to F**** the Fear Turkey!
Sincerely, Alucard”
My immigrant neighbor came here legally, is now an American citizen, and voted for Trump. She’s not hiding from anybody.
I fail to see a problem.

No they do not. They are humanly released at our border, in droves, from which they cluck their way into Medicare, Social Security disability, food stamps, welfare, unemployment compensation, free medical care and free housing. They cluck and pluck us dry.
Happy clucking Thanksgiving.
More BS from the Left. They break our laws by being here illegally and their families are no different from other criminal families who fear their lawbreaker member might be arrested and put in jail. Legal resident criminals being sent to jail or illegals being sent back to their won countries — whats the difference they are separated from their families.
My grandparents.
Criminal aliens scum are not immigrants. They are invaders. Finished.
I guess we will have to build a bigger wall, so there is no mistake.
Draconian? I never thought of deporting criminals as draconian. That is a word I would reserve for the penalty of giving my hard-earned tax dollars to illegals for welfare, for extra school staff including 40-plus languages in my local schools, and real Americans giving up their jobs to illegals who work cheaper. Those penalties are draconian. A criminal getting what he/she deserves? That’s justice.
So are the 3000 Iowans who contribute to their local communities by ending the DACA program.
Next step: illegals sue the officials who let them stay in the country, attend school, get driver licenses, collect benefits...
Illegal Immigrants doncha mean?
This article is one of the most joyous and positive MSM (Minor-Stream Media) articles I’ve read for a long time.
Why not have an article of murders and rapists on the lam have a side order of fear of going to jail?
Why not an article of child rapists and thieves for the same?
A person who breaks into your home does not become your guest.
Don’t understand why these “immigrants”, who are part of TPS and DACA think they have a RIGHT here in this country? It is not “lawful immigrants and US citizens’” fault your parents chose to bring you into this country the wrong way. I’m sorry they did that to you.
Here’s another issue: Once these TSP and DACA have been given an opportunity to become citizens DO NOT ALLOW THEM to bring immigrant families into the country without proper vetting. This is a black-hole problem in this country.
p.s. We should never have a “temporary” program last so long.
