In the early evening, as Guadagno was shmoozing the crowd, that might have looked like a safe stance. All of the networks were predicting a Clinton victory.
By morning, however, Republicans awoke to find themselves in a new era, one for which Guadagno was uniquely ill-suited.
Her attack on Trump had alienated the many pro-Trumpers in the party. She couldn't count on the support of the president. But she could count on the anti-Trumpers to rally for her opponent.

In fact, there were zero such Republicans. Despite Christie's 21-point personal landslide, he didn't pick up a single seat in the Legislature.
That's because he spent the entire campaign trying to get votes for himself in Democratic districts rather than for his fellow Republicans in swing districts.
Alas, he failed to get the support of the Democratic mayor of Fort Lee. And a month later that blew up into the scandal that made things so difficult for his fellow Republicans in today's campaign.
He is a much chastened - and much improved - politician post-Bridgegate.
But that didn't do his lieutenant governor a lot of good.
Worse, the major New York paper that endorsed her failed to spell her name right.

and pronounce...the g is silent and most in the news pronounce the g...sounds so silly...
now they don’t have to worry about it anymore, Murphy is very easy to spell and pronnounce...They’ll have an easy 8 years.
Corslime lasted but a single term. Murphy is Corslime’s twin. Actually, no Democrat has been reelected as Governor in NJ since Brendan Byrne in 1977. They always end in disaster since. The GOP better start grooming the guy to defeat him in 2021.

In any case, she could have loved on Trump, hated on Trump, doesn’t matter, she was never gonna win with Christy Cream’s approval rating being slightly worse than stepping in dog crap and slightly better than getting sprayed by a skunk.
She’d did about the same as Trump, 41.89% to his 41% even, while losing one county he carried, Gloucester.
She’s got a “Justine Feraldo” vibe going on. Methinks she would have been a handful in her younger days.
And, yes, no way was she going to win. She had about as much of a chance as that boat that played chicken with an iceberg so many years ago did.
Watching that is like shooting heroin without a syringe.

It’d be funny if the movie about this movie (coming out shortly) ends up winning awards. I think Franco is too young to play the “guy.”
I haven’t been keeping up with Dynasty reboot, but they’ve cast Alexis, Nicolette Sheridan. The only question is will the show make it long enough for her to appear.
Can’t believe I’d live long enough to see Nic playing matronly roles. Wow.
