Democrats in the Seattle area top nation in saying climate change is real

Climate change, like every hot-button issue facing the nation, divides Americans along party lines.

Democrats are a lot more likely than Republicans to acknowledge Earth is heating up. But a new study from Yale University reveals that even among Democrats, opinions vary nationwide depending on the region in which people live.

And nowhere is acceptance of global warming more pervasive than in the Seattle area.

Among 425 congressional districts in the United States, Washington’s 7th District ranks No. 1 for acceptance of climate change among Democratic voters. About 93 percent of the ones who live in the district say they think global warming is happening, according to the study.

Washington’s 7th, which covers most of Seattle, Vashon Island and parts of South King and Snohomish counties, edges out California’s 12th (San Francisco) and Oregon’s 3rd (Portland) for the top spot. Nationally, 82 percent of Democrats say global warming is occurring.

Washington’s 7th, represented in U.S. Congress by Pramila Jayapal, is one of the most solidly blue districts in the country. Hillary Clinton won 82 percent of the district’s vote in the 2016 presidential election.

The data estimates in the study are derived from a statistical analysis of a large national survey data set, along with demographic and geographic population data and political-party registration data from state voter files.

Climate change is real. It just may or may not be caused by man and if man is part of the equation, the impact and proportion of that participation isn’t quantifiable.

I would bet real money that if you polled those districts about transgenderism they would be similarly deluded. Moonbattery happens.

So in summary, we can say that Seattle has a preponderance of mentally unstable people.

I don’t think we needed a study to tell us this.

They’re idiots. They must enjoy being rained on for 300 days out of the year.

The weather on,the coast is throttled by the Pacific. Most of the coast is considered rain forest up to the coastal range.

East of that, and the sun takes over. 50 degrees overnight on the central oregon coast in august is common, just like it is here out on the high desert.

If you notice the Seattle Times article title says "climate change is real" and the subjective study says "global warming acceptance."

So what is it? Is it warming for real or not? Is it global or is it just local?

Geez.

Idaho leads the nation in saying Bigfoot is real.

Las Vegas leads the nation in saying a system to beat slot machines is real.

Colorado leads the nation in saying hallucinations of pink dancing elephants are real.

Long Island leads the nation is saying the possibility of a Jets winning season is real.

etc...

Very interesting how this is a litmus test for how leftward a community has moved, and that Alexandria/Arlington, VA is about as leftist as Berkeley and San Francisco. Just wow.

Well, that table should tell you about why Virginia is going irreparably blue and also all you need to know about NYC Republicans.

I must be missing something obvious as I often am, but can anybody find a temperature profile for Seattle over the past however many years it’s been recorded? I’ve been trying to find some sort of politically-agnostic weather data website like I can find in half a dozen places for sports data. Was hoping to either find a historical temperature graph or make a custom one from the raw data. Can’t find anything like this, though.

All of the “Top Republican” listed districts (NY 15, 13, 7, 9, and 10) are represented by Democrats.

How are these districts Republican?

NY 7th - Clinton 87% to Trump 10%
NY 15th - Clinton 94% to Trump 5%

These are the “Top Republican” Districts.

The interesting thing is that 20-30% of the voters in these New York districts voted for Clinton but do not accept Global Warming.

Here’s an idea for you “climate change” believers.

If you don’t like the climate where you are, move somewhere else!

Thank you for posting TangledUpInBlue.

"Climate change is real."

The “Sherlock” observation that I recently became aware of that undermines the integrity of politically correct global warming is this. The basic thing that stops the temperature from dropping at night is sunrise.

In fact, the temperature is known to drop significantly in areas in the path of a total solar eclipse.

How cold can it get during a total solar eclipse? (Note that article refers to the total solar eclipse of 1834.)

Also, the article referenced by the following thread shows that ocean levels are below what they were thousands of years ago.

Landing site for invasions of Britain in 55 and 54 BC pinpointed

Also consider historic satellite analysis of global warming.

STUDY: Satellites Show No Acceleration In Global Warming For 23 Years

Corrections, insights welcome.

In my opinion, global warming alarmism amounts to a politically correct “cattle prod" to scare taxpayers into accepting higher taxes.

Also, note that the states have never expressly constitutionally delegated to the corrupt feds the specific power to regulate, tax and spend for global warming purposes. The states would first have to amend the Constitution for that purpose in order for the feds to be able to do so.

Was in Seattle a year ago. It was cold an icy. Everywhere I went I smelled pot. Most the people looked scuzzy, especially millinneals. Trump was about a month away from being sworn in. I saw four anti Trump prostest gatherings. One store had all konds of “Resist” clothing items.

I believe Seattle may be nuttier than San Francisco or Berkeley.
