A judge ordered Arkansas to stop issuing birth certificates in response to a demand from two lesbians. The governor said that if two lesbians are "married" they can both be listed on the birth certificate.

I don't know if the judge in question is a liberal activist or just felt that there was no alternative given recent Supreme Court decisions.

Some day the boy may be able to locate close relatives on the paternal side through DNA testing--by then the pool of people who have been tested will presumably be much greater than it is now. He may not be able to locate his actual father but might find close relatives of his father.

It would seem that anonymous sperm donations makes it impossible to learn if there is a family history of inheritable diseases.

I had a similar case 13 years ago, before Obergefell but after Troxel. The Judge and I were/are conservative Christians but followed the doctrine of psychological parent, hinted at in Kennedy’s descent in Troxel and found in a New Jersey case.
