Vice President Pence arrived in Aspen, Colo., this week for a holiday vacation but not without encountering a silent protest from his neighbors in the liberal ski resort town.
Make America Gay Again, reads a rainbow banner posted on the stone pillar at the end of the driveway of the home where Pence and his wife, Karen, are staying.
A dispatcher with the Pitkin County Sheriffs Office referred The Washington Post to the White House press office Saturday, but Sheriffs Deputy Michael Buglione told the Aspen Times that Pences next-door neighbors posted the banner shortly after the vice president and his family arrived on Tuesday. In an email to the Aspen Times, Shannon Slade said she is a girlfriend of one of the daughters of the couple living in the house, and that they posted the banner.
LGBT advocates have previously showed their opposition to Pence.

There’s still some sane parts. The Plains counties, for example. Some went over 80% for Trump (Baca, Cheyenne, Kiowa, Kit Carson, Washington & Yuma). Even Moffat & Rio Blanco in the NW corner of the state also went over 80%. All of these were record-breaking highs for a GOP Presidential candidate. Not even Nixon in ‘72 or Reagan in ‘84 got those kinds of percentages.
Some Hispanic (plurality or majority) areas also went for or were trending to Trump. He carried Trinidad’s Las Animas County with 55%, which last went GOP in 1972 (that appeared to be the highest % for a Republican in over a century). Same with Pueblo, also the first since 1972. All evidence of working-class appeal, Reagan and the Bushes couldn’t get these counties.
The downside is they’re offset by the Democrat areas of Denver and the resort areas. Still, if Trump holds his appeal in those areas and peels off some suburban Denver counties and keeps the Dem margins down elsewhere, he could win the state in 2020. As it was, Hillary got just 48.2%, down from a high for Zero in 2008 of 54%.
If I was Pence I’d hire someone to burn the flag and post it on YouTube. I’d also hire private security to guard my house and shoot anyone who dared come onto my property. Indiana after all does have the castle doctrine enacted.
And when I was done being VP I’d move out there and buy my own land in the Indiana countryside and build a new house.

I think Obama’s gonna be the last gay President in a while.
